This is a website for all truck owner who race their trucks.
This particular truck is basically a lightly modified lightning pushing 15.0 in the 1/4. Supposedly 420 horses, or somewhere around there.
A base stock lightning will run mid 15's with an auto.
My 4.2L V6 fully loaded heavy as _ _ ck super cab is running mid 16's. I'll post slips Friday night. A torque converter and a bump to a 50 shot of NX will take me below his mid 15's.
I've seen 4 cyl acura's get into the mid 12's.
Thing is, you can make ANY motor go as fast as you want it to go, there are NO limits.
Besides, answer me this, which is more emotionally rewarding. Signing your name on a piece of paper and driving to the track with your brand new lightning when you don't even know what an oil dipstick is, and pulling mid 15's thinking your bad? Or buying an older car or slower car and turning into a track monster with your own bare hands and mechanical knowledge.
Any freakin knucklehead can go buy a 350Z for 32,000 and run 14's with it and think there all bad out there with their pink shirt and pastel blue scarf around their neck.
But to take something that isn't as fast, and make it faster than "Biffy's" car with your own bare hands....that's an accomplishment you can be proud of and brag to your friends.
I've earned some bragging rights myself, and no one hear with a brand new lightning who doesn't know what a lugnut is but can run 15's hasn't. So they can just keep their mouth shut.

You don't need any luck man. Your V6 can smoke V8's I guarantee. It just needs some work. My friend, who just bought a brand new Dodge Dakota R/T 5.9L (monster motor), hates me because I beat him in the quarter mile. After I beat him, he won't even open the hood of his truck because he doesn't want anyone to know that my puny 4.2 beat his mega monster 5.9.
And his truck probably weighs 500 pounds less.
Tom
For that matter try running against a standard F-250 reg cab 2WD with the 5.4L 6-speed manual trans and 4:10 LSD.

And James,

thats awesome, my buddy is already prepping the operating room for the procedure. He called today and asked if i minded removing the radiator mounts and relocating it back 3" to make room for the intercooler
....i was like "umm ok sure" he then asked if i minded rerouting the exaust for the 2.5" stainless full sys. and he said he had some headders that he will port match and work the heads trim off a bit and port/polish em , then he has found an aftermarket set of injectors and hi-pressure pump, the crank will be trued, and new rods and pistons will go on top, he said its gonna be a long process but when we're done itll be SICK....pix to come when it starts

Joseph, I wish we could run each other but maybe we could just post slips instead. Winter is coming so the humidity should start dying down here, which means faster times for everyone. I'm taking the truck out tonight since I've got the chip back with the nitrous program. I want to run it to see what it'll do now. Based on past gains, I'm expecting 16.5 on the 35 shot. If that works as planned, i'm moving to the 50 shot, but I don't have enough gas in my tank to move up tonight, it'll have to be on Wednesday. Once I do that, I'll be in the upper 15's.

I wont the most bang for my buck. 4.2 or 4.6 or 5.0 or 5.4

What made your city up and decide they're going to toss in a drag strip?? That's great. I wish they could put more in down here, unfortunately, it takes alot of space to put in a strip. And florida developers would rather put in condos and duplexes and houses that are so close together you can spit on your neighbors window. There isn't a whole lot of room left in south Florida.
I decided I was going to go back to college so I can freshen up on my english. I must have slipped a little since i've been out because i didn't understand anything that Bobcatbarth was saying : )

By the way how does your NOS hook in is it a single shot in to the air intake? Truck looks nice though, need some pictures of smoking tires.
