Coast Guard out of high school, then 20 years of driving truck (started in the oilpatch then went OTR) 10 yrs computer systems engineer for Major Oilfield Services company and now semi-retired trying to start up a small lawn mowing business. Also dabble in website design.

Very interesting. What a diverse skillset on these forums. Myself I was an avionics technician (AT) in the Navy working primarily on EA-6B's. Transitioned into civilian life as an electrician on 747's and then moved over to the aircraft mechanic side of the commercial business and built large commercial airplanes for customers all over the world for 20 years. Currently Im a Quality Assurance inspector for the large aerospace firm here on the west coast. Besides tinkering with old trucks, also have a small collection of RC boats and RC tugboats that have been restored to seaworthy condition. The tugs were built in 1982 and 1984 by my Dad. Wood hull......39 and 54 inches long respectively.

At my last real job I worked for a large school district maintaining and troubleshooting low pressure hydronic and steam boilers and also steam absorption/centrifugal chillers anywhere from 500 to 1000 ton capacities. I did that for 24 years and then at the age of 48 I moved to the home I built in NW Wisconsin and now I chop wood for heat and live a lean life with few bills and an old 1978 Ford. I rarely miss the big money and take life as it comes!

Semi-retired university professor. Over the 40+ years of this career, I have evolved through numerous areas of expertise (learning psychology, distance learning, educational technology) while maintaining a "secret life" of drag racer, street rodder and, now, truck modder. I still have my 1933 4 door six wheel Chev with Ford 351C/C6, IFS, etc. street rod. My trucks are a 1976 F-150 with 390 that is recovering from the PO's serious frontal crash and an F-100 with a very tired 360/C6.
