Yes, that's your job for now. I know a couple of 40+ "professional students". I seriously doubt they could handle a job in the "real" world.

Residential building contractor , new and remodel , all parts of it. 30 plus years , retired a few years back. Sure wish i could dump some construction tools , nobody wants the old stuff.__

Semiconductor test engineer working in new product development. Work with PCB's, lots of electronics, software development, debugging, etc.

Nice to get off work and tinker on a truck with no electronics other than the radio

Funny how the same thing means something different in different worlds. For you, "PCB's (I assume) means printed circuit boards. For me, "PCB's" means polychlorinated biphenyls, nasty stuff found in transformer insulating oil.

Biotech mechanic. Our firm makes medicine for sick kids. Sounds corny, but my job seems to have a more noble purpose.

Hardware design engineer at a semiconductor company. I design a lot of the test/evaluation platforms. I do PCB design, FPGA implementation, microcontroller firmware development, and work with all sorts of lab equipment I'll never be able to afford. I also do a lot of technical documentation and specification.
