Thank you. When I have the funds, I'd like to have my kitchen rewired. May I assume this is what you do for a living and can help?

Yup, David. That's what Mr. Cat does for a living: professional electrician.

Good morning Clint. Got up early to inspect my lawn sprinklers. Don't want any water escaping onto the street. Shame we can't pipe flood waters in from the east. In other news, we're thinking about making 6 California's.

SACRAMENTO — Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper began submitting signatures Tuesday for a ballot initiative asking voters to split California into six separate states, a move he said would create governments that are more manageable and responsive to residents’ needs.

...I think a H2O pipeline will be cheaper....

Interesting thought.
I've been following this for a while 'cause I have a place up north.

Can you imagine the fallout from LA and SF governing themselves.

Although this may be getting close to the edges of topics not approved here:

I believe that would actually cause the US Senate to have more conservatives. Rural California isn't as politically liberal as the big population centers. Ever see the red-state-blue-state map broken down by counties?

However, individual state financing will likely be the big "push-back" to breaking up the state.

I'm thinking if it ended up in six pieces we'd get 3 conservative vs 3 liberal states.

That county red and blue map interested me a lot. Butte county where my place is, is rural yet blue. I think Chico state may have influenced that.

I think we're ok here as long as we don't start any damn this and damn that.

The most important rule is don't put your old pal Steve in an uncomfortable position

Local politics has always been an acceptable topic for discussion in the chapters. I'm glad it's not a popular one though, if it was we'd probably need 4 or 5 more chapter moderators

not to wander from current topic lol but i need to vent just a little....

so after my 18volt dewalt XRP sawzall bites the dust 9 months ago the boss bought me a new bare tool 18volt dewalt xrp today, i had not replaced it on my own yet because works been tight..... sweet! the only sweeter thing would of been a whole new tool kit he was looking to buy because my battery's (4) of them at this time are all about 3yrs old which is the start of the decline in performance....

get to the job this morning, get going and goto drill a hole with my augur bit and drill runs slow.... WTF? i think to myself "this battery is full... i just took it off the charger".

so i hold down the trigger and grab the chuck which is creeping along and turn it a little bit and the whole back of the case where the motor vents are lights up in a huge ole spark show and release of "factory installed smoke".... insert a heartbreaking string of muttered curse words.

i bought it in January of 2012. and the kicker is my last drill went out in the same frigging glory 3 or so years ago.... not exactly a cheep drill either, its a 1/2" key less chuck, 3 speed transmission, hammer drill, and XRP model which is so posed to be built for working.... i think bare tool is 130 dollars or there about.

job went well.... but was pissed off all day about my drill. ill just scrach up a couple green backs and git another one and toss this one in the dead dewalt box i got going.... maybe ill fix it.

ok off my soapbox
