Sure has a nice patina. Ok ND, is she a '65 or '66?
The grille indicates 1966 The wheel lugs indicate a f250 The impression of fender emblem indicates 1966
The 1965 fender emblem would have an impression of Ford f250 on the top of emblem.
The rust looks to be repairable, but at what cost?
Yea, Justin, I decided that I was going to inspect the 115-volt wiring on the little travel trailer today, after being reminded in an RV forum about how sleazy they can be wired, and what a fire hazard that can be. It didn't take long to decide I needed the trailer's A/C on.
Did you know that the common duplex plugs are actually "punch-downs" with the Romex? The GFI is not, however, thank goodness!
So there I am making heat with the soldering iron, and making cool with the Coleman overhead, and still sweating.
I didn't pick the smartest time to start that job, either. About 1400. Whew!

yeah the 120V wiring is interesting in trailers.... not too far off from what is done in romex in modern homes, but the plugs seems really cheap in the trailers which is the splice point and a place for loose connections and heat.

I know you've been there, 'cause you described it to a "T"!
A little liquid flux, some SN63, and my Weller will ensure I have extremely little resistance heating, even if Marge wants to use a hair dryer.
I went through the breaker box when I first got it, but didn't give much thought to all the pig-tailing that goes on in the rest of the wiring. I was reading a post on the Forest River forum about how some guy finally discovered a melting duplex and about four inches of insulation missing from a wire.
It's been nagging at me for a while, and I've been meaning to get to it, but was reminded earlier today and I had nothing else planned, so I got to it.
now if the walls were 3 1/2" deep they could for one insulate better and for two use standard romex boxes that home building uses!
romex has its place
3/8" MC cable has its place
Flex has its place
metal conduit ( EMT,IMT,Rigid) has its place
ultimately i like when i find flex or EMT,IMT,Rigid used and i need to pull in new wires or add a circuit...... 90% of the time its a WIN situation 10% time your still hosed.
its when the homeowner wants romex and we cant cut any holes in the walls is when i usually get hosed....
there have been a few jobs where you just want to flip out and say " DO YOU WANT ME TO USE WIRELESS ELECTRICITY!?!?!"
haha anyways came off the tracks there a bit... off the soapbox
Good to see you're still keepin' your eye on us here at FTE.
What'cha' driving now-a-days?
Miss some of those good food posts.

Still driven the X
I'll have to look back and see if I've made any good stuff lately, only food excitement for now is my moruga scorpion pepper plant that's producing, and the lemon tree and my franken-fruit tree (5 different items-lemons, limes, oranges...and others can't remember).
