How much caster is too much?
I have my ex getting aligned..
I have only replaced the stayblizer, and power steering pump, right wheel bearing and axle joint.
The rest of the front end is tight and smooth.
I know the next step is springs.....
The caster on it now is 3.5+
I took it in because it seams to be all over the road.
I'm going to have the caster bumped up..
Just wondering what kinda caster everyone is running..
Thanks
John

Do you have a 2wd or 4wd?
Left 3.6°, +/- 2.0°
Right 4.0°, +/- 2.0°
Total/Split -0.37° +/- 0.55°
That is all I know. Some folks may get better stability going out of that range but I don't know how far. But it does look like the maximum ranges are Left 1.6° to 5.6°, and right 2.0° to 6.0° with 1 degree of total variance between the two sides.
Mechanic checked out front end and steering box and sain everything seems nice and tight.
Also told me that the max spec that his machine told him was 5 deg positive
So..I had them bump mine up to 5 deg positive.

I drove it a mile back to my shop and seemed fine but it was on a 35 mph road..
I'm going to try to get a chance to take it for a little ride on a highway in the next day or so.
Ill let you know ...
