No sound in air test. Had master tech confirm while engine was warm. As he was explaining the HPOP and STC, he mentioned the o-rings below the pump. I can't recall installing them... If I didn't, once the oil gets warm, the LPOP builds enough pressure to blow the oil out the HPOP inlet. My understanding of the HPOP is it's a pressure pump only and will not suck. Does this sound logical?

I can't really say that sounds logical to me.

Here is where I think you are from reading both threads.

Your original problem was hard start cold or no start cold. I think this was caused by the FICM. You since have repaired.

You now have a no start hot. This is almost always caused by a HPO leak. It could be a very small leak and a leaking o-ring is almost always the culprit. I would suspect the stand pipes and dummy plugs, top injector o-rings, or oil rial nipple cup o-rings.

Keep in mind that if you did not have a hot start problem before you started working on it then it is most likely something you disturbed while in there.

If it was me I would go back in and carefully inspect all the HPO components.

I concur. Thanks for the input.

I have replaced stand pipes, d-plugs, and STC. I do not recall replacing the o-rings under the HPOP when I removed it. I know it was something I have touched, replaced, upgraded or worked on...

There is the o-ring for the HPOP from the reservoir and an o-ring for the STC fitting to branch tube.

It''s very well possible an o-ring was fubar'd while installing one of the dummy plugs.

You did torque them to 60 ft-lbs?

Yup! 60... Ford tech said we would hear it in the rocker cover if I had damaged it, and the damage was substantial enough to cause a no start.

Totally bummed out man. Pulled turbo, pulled cover, put IPR in for further validation that my leak was in there. Heard it plain as day. Pulled pump. Both o-rings were there. I never could verify we're the leak was around pump. Used mirrors, fingers, even dribbled clean oil to maybe see a bubble or hear a change.

Replaced STC, again. Reinstalled with new o-rings, again. Put IPR in just to see. I think it got louder. Had to get truck out of shop so I put it all together and crossed my fingers. Pulled the FICM relay to crank up some oil. Filled oil rail thru ICP. Put relay back in and click. Wouldn't turn over. Put 200A charger on it. Still nothing. What is it gonna take with this cursed truck!!! Had to push it out and into a parking spot.

Did you try touching the yellow/blue stripe wire on the passenger side fender to the battery positive to see if the starter would turn over? The wire has a black connector in the middle of it you disconnect and the wire will reach the terminal. Don't have the key on.

Nope. Sure will tho. Also gonna try turning the crank shaft pulley. I'm an electrical engineer/master electrician. I just wish all my other troubles were electrical.

I need help! my new to me 2004 F350 duelly with 6.0 turbo! where to start? Everyones telling me to do an egr delete and to replace the head bolts, but noone can tell me why? I'd love to add a performance chip and do a bunch of mods, but this is my first diesel. with gas jobs I know what to do but im lost here and dont know where to start to learn....

I am very mechanically inclined and have most of the tools to completely tear this truck apart, just dont have the diesel knowledge, yet...

I'm so screwed. Engine is locked. I'm scared something fell in while changing the STC! Towing to DIS in Springdale tomorrow. I'm sure they'll have to remove the tranny and find whatever in hades I've dropped in there. That'll be cheap!!!
