So, I was looking through the dashboss log from yesterday's test drive, and I noticed that the EBP sensor shows 0 at KOEO. Ordered up a new one so we shall see if that takes care of some of my driving issues. It has showed that for quite some time, but I guess I never really noticed it. Just sitting there right in front of my face.
I have a 2005 MY Excursion, but it has the 2004 sticker on the motor, and the EBP sensor is on the T-stat braket. Do I order parts for a 2005 or for a 2004?
IIRC yours isn't the only one I've seen like that. You might shoot Bullit390 a PM and ask him if that's normal for the dashboss. What does it show running? Does it respond at all and is it showing a code? AFA the part # goes it should be an 04 (if there's even a difference) but take the VIN for confirmation.
It does respond to throttle and such, but never even reaches Baro. Stumbled across an old thread that a couple of you 6.0 wizards had posted on, and that is what brought it to my attention. Funny thing about it is that the information has been in front of me the who,e time, but I just didn't know how to translate it.
I messed with it, got the tube cleaned out with weed eater line and such. The plug "looks" good, but I did not check it with my VOM. The EBP readings are exactly what they have always been since I got the truck, starting to figure out all the little reasons why the PO traded it in.
Update on this one. New EBP sensor from RiffRaff, numbers are better. Turbo makes a light whistling noise while idling that I'd never heard before. So that's progress, but the p0404 has come back. Just randomly, and not every time I drive the truck. Ordered up some new hot side CAC boots, because the ones on there are weeping oil pretty badly. Probably not related, but it is maintenance that needs to be done.
