Not sure how to translate these numbers, but I looked again for EGR valve position, and duty cycle, but they don't seem to be part of the dashboss experience.
P0404 code came back when I WOT up a very steep hill over by my house, but truck seems to be running fine, didn't buck or complain at all, a little bit of black smoke, then off we went up the hill.

I'm thinking the dash boss command is duty cycle, don't know what error maybe wrong pid, you need the above info do you have the pids for VP that will be in volts, the other two are percent of open or closed during throttle .
Hello fellas. I heard tim mentioned my name. So hence I came. Lol. Sorry I'm a little late. Wat about the egr codes now? Dunno if the dashboss might be causing a conflict. Not trying to sound rude. Just trying to cover the bases.

I have to come up to Kent on Friday afternoon if you want to meat up.
I can bring the Snap-On Solus and we can take some readings.
PM me and I'll send you my number.

That is a very nice offer, but I work until 6pm/ or until the work is complete. So that probably won't work. I still have my old valve, might throw it in tomorrow, and compare the readings. Of course it was throwing codes immediately, but I could compare it.
Hello boss. From the looks of it, the egr % is flipped around. Sometimes, cleaning sensors may not work. Could be faulty sensors. A DVM will come in handy to test and see if they are working or not. U can also ohm the connector which connects to the sensors. Ur supposed to get a 0 at engine and power off. Anything else and it's faulty.
Another distinct possibility could also be the harness for the egr valve. If check engine light goes away for the egr valve, then it shouldn't be the egr valve. I would look elsewhere.
Maybe a leak or loss of compressed air thru ur entire intake? If air blowing thru is lean by truck requirements, it could throw a code. But p0404? Hmmm. Sorry. Talking to myself here.
I would look to changing the map sensor as a precaution too.
Black smoke could be an injector dumping a little too much fuel than normal, but then again u just changed the fuel filters and it was nasty.
So, I was looking through the dashboss log from yesterday's test drive, and I noticed that the EBP sensor shows 0 at KOEO. Ordered up a new one so we shall see if that takes care of some of my driving issues. It has showed that for quite some time, but I guess I never really noticed it. Just sitting there right in front of my face.
I have a 2005 MY Excursion, but it has the 2004 sticker on the motor, and the EBP sensor is on the T-stat braket. Do I order parts for a 2005 or for a 2004?
