That means your relay is BAD.

With the positive on the plug side of the relay and the negative grounded with the key to the "ON" position and you get zeros on the meter, it means that your relay is bad and no power to the glow plugs. Also, make sure that you are getting 12-13 volts on the battery side post which is the other larger post on the relay which is on the passenger side. The post should read about the same voltage as your battery. Your ignition does not have to be on to get this reading.

So with the readings you are getting, are you thinking your relay is still good?

I thought when he stated, "thanks though", I took it as something else. Glad we figured it out to be just the relay at this point, and "maybe" not the glow plugs at all.

You don't need to do that. The app did its job. Your relay works thus why your truck read over 10.6V. MY original thought when mine read 10.1 was glow plugs but I should have considered the relay because that is where the power comes from....

Like I said the torque app is creditable but it only reads what it given not exactly a diagnostics scanner in real time readings.

Glad you guys got it figured out.

The GPR is way overlooked when someone says there truck won't start when cold, must be the glow plugs...

Hopefully you will take my advise and upgrade to the Stancor GPR and do the GPR LED mod to make sure it is working.Welcome to guzzle's Stancor GPR replacement Mod Web Page

I had my OEM relay replaced on my last truck with another OEM relay. It only lasted a year before it gave out again. In the winter time nonetheless... You can buy the OEM relay from Riffraff, or probably local dealership.

The LED mod will save your butt in the winter if your truck isn't starting, or just rule out that the GPR is not the problem.

Here is where I bought my Stancor GPR, which is on the website I sent you. 586 105111 White-Rodgers | Mouser

Dylan go ahead and grab a 12v led at Radio Shack. About $3, use any small wire laying around.

Crimp a connector spade big enough to contact large post without rubber cover. Run into the cab. I just grounded my led right under the steering wheel on the dash frame.

My led just lays on my brake controller until ready to mount with guage pod someday.

Perfect time to do it while your swapping relay's. The GPR109 should be $25 at napa. When the stancor comes you will have a backup to help someone with.

Glad it was relay and not plugs.
