Unhappy Some some help troubleshooting round two

2005 CC LB 4x4
176K

I just bought this truck, according to oil change sticker on windshield the truck was over due an oil change by 3k ( guessing sticker was for 3K interval, would mean truck was overdue by 1k) prior to purchase the truck ran great no lack of power no miss, oil level was fine. after about 200 miles i started noticing a miss when tranny shifted into OD at cruising speeds- got worse when presented with a load, like a hill etc. but would go away when I accelerated or forced tranny to downshift, I initially thought is was stiction. I changed the oil and filter with motorcraft filter and Rotella t6 5w40. I changed the oil while at operating temp, I could smell fuel pretty strong, immediately after oil change the miss got worse and now it is present at idle, and through all the gears,I still suspect injector but am second guessing my self a bit......I went to smell old oil and now that it is cold I don't smell the fuel. I dont have any scanners etc.

Yup, that sounds like an injector is failing. You can try to pull the codes, but they don't always set one with a misfire. Your best bet is to find someone who can do a power balance test to determine which one(s) it is.

I would also check the fuel pressure. Low fuel pressure will kill injectors pretty quickly, so you wouldn't want to replace any injectors and have low fuel pressure.

Cruise by AutoZone and see if they will scan it for DTC's for you.

See your other post. That video link that was put up has the correct info - it just doesn't play the right one all the time. It is in there though and I summarized what it said.

Definitely listen to big inch and check DTCs.

After smelling old oil, myself and having neighbor smell it, not convinced there is fuel in it, going to A Zone to have a scanner put on, hopefully i can find the cylinder that is misfiring, after I do paper test on oil to verify fuel or not

FWIW the actual oil change interval for the 6.0 is 7500 miles, most do the severe service and go with 5000 and others do 3000.

So you may have had 10,500 miles on the oil.

took truck to auto zone, it started with rough idle then cleared up for a bit, started missing at stop light then cleared up again.....p2262 was only code found, code is turbo boost so low that there must be mechanical failure. i have no idea at this point

So you checked the hose on each end? No cracks/splits? What about the brass nipple on the intake manifold to make sure nothing is stopped up in it? Stick something in the hole to make sure it is clear?

don't remember seeing a brass nipple, i had took everything from the turbo to the air cleaner intake at the grill off. I checked for cracks and grime, it was surprisingly clean. I am racking my brain trying to think of possibilities other than injectors.....I know the truck was overdue an oil change, wondering if fuel filters may be a factor in this, I havent changed them yet. when I did the bubble test the secondary filter looked good.

<p>The MAP sensor is located just above the evaporator housing on the passenger side and is connected to the passenger side of the intake manifold via a rubber hose.</p>
