OK Guys finally got the readings on the 9 Pin on the valve cover.
Going from the front to the rear
#1 nothing
#2 nothing
#3 3.5
#4 2.9
#5 .6
#6 3.6
#7 3.6
#8 nothing
#9 nothing
First I'm curious. How did you take the reading on #5? Place both pins on the same spot, or do you have the black pin somewhere else?
Second, if one lead was on #5 and you got those readings from the other lead, then I'd suggest you clear the codes (disconnect the batteries for a while if necessary, unplug the connector at the 2nd (counting the front injector as 1) injector, and start the truck up again. See if the miss isn't much better from only running on 7 cylinders as opposed to 4.
If there is a very noticeable improvement (it will still have a miss and the CEL will be on), then you've found a bad solenoid. If there's no change, move on to something else.
WOW Hope you close to your house. I did place the Black lead on the center pin and test the other 8 pins with the red wire. I had the multi meter set on Ohms 200. was not sure where to set it at as there are 5 ohm choices.
I was not sure about testing the 5th (center) pin. I did have both leads on it. Also I did test it with the batteries connected would that change it?

Do we have in members in that area? I would not want to be trying to pull VC's if I were stranded away from home without all the tools I needed, and being that the OP had stated in the first post about not being too good with a wrench, it sure would be nice to get some onsite assistance. Not to mention pulling the passenger side VC is "challenging" even on a good day.

If someone is near and could that would be awesome. I never play the girl card but I gotta tell you this is kicking my butt. I have found muscles I didn't know existed and they are not happy. I don't have the tools. Going to AZ this morning and getting a swivel socket and a couple of extensions. If anyone is near and can help me out that would really rock. You guys have been great walking me through all this.
Had a fairy arrive this morning who sent a cash offering took it to a repair shop. Still awaiting final but they called and said the black wire going to the center was was crushed under the valve cover. Still waiting to see if they find anything else.
