No start hot
Truck started right up this am, drove till hot and shut off. Tried to start sounded like it tried but didn't.. LUnpluged sensor on rt valve cover still no start.
Too hot to try other sensor.
Okay, just got a code on my pocket scanner. It is. P2285. Pnd 1/1. Mod 00
Injection control pressure sensor circuit low.
What would this be?
Thanks,

I think I have a oil pressure problem, I get no indication of oil pressure when cranking the engine for awhile, when its running I get the same as before the problem started. I have no rough idle or surging truck runs great.

Do you use OEM oil, fuel and air filters? and OEM oil filter cap? How is the oil level?
The one in the back is a control regulator (IPR) and you don't want to unplug that one.
If you not seeing any low pressure (LPOP) on the cluster at start I would check the
pressure with a gauge but it's not really going to effect the HPOP problem with the HOT
not start. You need to with the scanner do a live data capture so you can tell what the
ICP and IPR numbers are when it hot and won't start. Post them here. Also what oil are
you running ,when was it last changed and do you have the right Oil filter. There are
some aftermarket that are a sort of fit and don't work that well. Read this post Rusty
has some good info on the oil filters https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...lter-info.html
Anyway back to your problem. If you don't know it would also be a good time to go to Ford and
see if you can get an OASIS report or at least have them look and see if the upgraded STC,stand
pips and dummy plugs have been installed in your rig.
The guys here will help you on this and if you want to take on the repairs yourself they are a VERY
good group to have helping.
So get the live data and post that. A Scanguage II is a good tool to do this with if you don't have access
to something better and it available at Autozone or on line at ScanGaugeII : Linear Logic - Home of the ScanGauge
They also have a lot of Xgauge programming info for our engines. It about $160 for the unit at Autozone.
Mine lust got back yesterday from being repaired. Very good tech support and easy to deal with them if you even need them.
I think I covered a lot of things here and may of missed things and added others.

It is going in the shop Tuesday, you are right unless you have the right test equipment there isn't,t much you can do except guess.
You are right on the stand tubes and plugs the tech told me that this what we are going to find is the problem. My truck with the exception of two injectors has had no engine work since new, 125'500 miles ago. I don't think I can com
Plain.
I have used rotella T , ford or racor filters , stock oil cap since new. Change oil at 2500, 3,00 miles.
I will let you know what the outcome is when we find the problem. Again I want to thank everyone for the replies I have gotten.
Thanks,

There is a high chance of stand pipes and dummy plugs and/or STC fitting.
The stand pipes and dummy plugs are less work to get to. The valve covers
and high pressure oil rail have to come off but not the turbo. For STC fittings
you take the top half off. I don't know if you can do the job with the intake in the
way. There is a youtube I think that shows how to do that with out removing the
intake. How ever you go about it you have to get at the HPOP pump to replace the
STC fitting. You can do an air test to help track it down. I think that is what I would
do if the numbers come back and confirm HPOP issue (leak).

I think that is the problem also. I saw the video, they sure make it look easy.
I,m thinking I might just let them replace everything at once and have peace of mind. We are leaving in Aug for wi. And about a 6k trip pulling a 8k fifth wheel so it's best to take care of it now.
Thanks for all the help and I will let you know what I find.

Well got the news, it's the dummy plugs and the high pressure rail stand tubes o rings leaking.
It takes 500 psi to start and I only have 375 psi so the seals are leaking. Going to pick up parts tomorrow. I guess it could have been worse.
Thanks again

Well I wish we would have. Found o rings bad so knowing better we just did the tubes and plugs. My starting oil pressure went to over 600psi, thought we had it licked, not to be looks like the stc is also leaking. So Thursday we do the stc.
On the positive side I will know that everything has been done so I don't have to worry. Story of my life. I will update when we change the stc.
