Earlier I posted a message about my truck sputtering after running for about ten minutes. It will stop shortly after running it another 10-15 minutes. Well, the emission light came on yesterday and the truck died at a slow idle. It started back up fine. So here is my problem. I grabbed a code reader and plugged it in. It cam up as P2285 (Injector Control Pressure Sensor Cir. Low.) so I figured, "Aha, this is what they must have replaced last time because I've only had this prob since they replaced it." For an engine to sputter and die like this, do you think its the ICP, I mean, the codes can't be lying...right?
BTW, I got sick of hearing crap about the EGR, so I unplugged it. This didn't help at all by the way.
check the wiring into the connector for the ICP sensor, and the actual sensor itself could be bad. but that sounds like ICP to me.
The ICP controls/reads how much pressure the injectors are under, so if it doesnt have the right voltage, or the sensor is bad, it can cause the symptoms you described
when my icp went out i changed the icp and just used electric contact cleaner to blow out the connector, stuck a liitle dielectric grease in the plug .saved me the price of,and changing the connector.
