Doesn't surprise me at all. They keep building and promoting snow trails, snow cat skiing along with other recreational opportunities (including year round fishing so they can promote ice fishing) and promoting snow park passes. Throw in 5 feet of compact ice and snow on some of Oregon's most treacherous winter roads along with all of the fare weather drivers as well as travel trailers, travel coaches and snow mobile / ATV trailers and you have the recipe for the "perfect storm".

Grandkids Wizard of Oz movie is about over for the 4132nd time, and their dad just got back, so I'm off to go duck and coyote hunting..................................and remind myself why I gave up babysitting 35 years ago!

Good morning Oregon FTE gang and friends.
Back to the grind this morning... Thankfully it's a short week. I'm taking Thursday - Sunday off and obviously Christmas Day too. It'll be like a vacation not working for 5 days in a row.
I've got the Christmas turkey in a brine right now getting ready to be smoked on the Traeger Wednesday.

Well, it's Monday allright...... Woke up this morning to find my desktop was hacked last night. I'm on my laptop right now. I've got my local IT buddy coming over today to fix the dam thing. god I hate hackers.....
On a better note! got a call from my brother in law this morning. He found a guy that want's to buy my ambulance/service truck for $7,000 ! Their working out how they both can come down in the next week or two...

Yes, indeed! There are many who should limit there "winter recreation" to sitting on the sofa at home watching a Bowl game and drinking Hot Buttered Rum's..........A few days after the storm we had a couple weeks back, i chose to drive down to Ashland to get a beer at Caldera Brewing's Tap house.....by then, both Grants Pass and Medford had downtown roads well cleared, but Ashland was one big ice rink. Bunch of young college kids, many of whom have no winter snow driving experience, 2wd cars without chains or studded tires, good grief!
