After "A" school, it was off to P3 OMA Technicians School, Airframes and Hydraulics. Then my special request chit was approved for Second Mech (Asst Flight Engineer) and by the time I got to the squadron I was combat aircrew in a "critical" rating and exempt from the LCPO's clutches. Went straight to air ops.
Under normal circumstances any "newbie" E3 or below, fresh out of school or boot camp that joined the squadron was assigned to the LCPO who found them the crappiest jobs available for 3 months. Usually it was mess duty. The lucky ones got assigned to the Seabees for 3 months of construction work on the barracks rehab projects.

I'm just finding out that my daughter's in-laws are right in the middle of that mess. Still trying to get info on their status. I thought they were farther east of where the tornado hit, but I was just informed that that is not the case.

Howdy everyone! I'm still kickin'!
Finishing up the last 3 weeks of the school term. Jackie finds out this week if she got into the nursing program at LBCC starting next fall. Mason just turned 3 on Friday (he's growing up too fast!).
I'll be starting a summer job with the BLM out of Springfield in mid June doing OHV trail patrol/maintenance and working with the recreation planner at Shotgun Creek OHV area. Should be a fun job, and it'll be good to get my foot in the door for when I graduate. About a year and a half left before I get my Bachelor's...

Morning Rob! I got a call yesterday from my local scrapper buddy. He picked up an old school steam cleaner and wanted to know if I wanted it. Harley and I went and checked it out, and it works great! I bought it for 2 hundred bucks.............grin!
