Definitely give consideration to a tankless unit - especially if yours is installed outside. You give up a bit in pressure but no longer need to worry about many of the other issues you might face with traditional units. There may also be a utility rebate in your area.

One more thing. Is the world suppose to end at the stroke of midnight tonight? Does it happen all at once, or by time zone? Anybody? Just trying to plan my day.

Especially if it turns out to be a zombie apocolypse!

i probably should take the time to clarify this, as i have first hand
knowledge in this matter, and can fabricate anything i don't have
direct knowledge of.

the real reason that the mayan calendar doesn't have dates
after today is simple. the civil servant tasked with making the
calendar retired, and there was a government hiring freeze,
as they had just gone over a financial cliff back then as well.

so today was the last day he had chiseled the day before he
retired. the last day was his retirement party, and we KNOW
he didn't do any work that day.

while on the subject of milestones, i'd also like to visit the
time honored tradition of turkey at thanksgiving.

why do we have turkey? simple. when they decided to have
a harvest celebration, they went out to get food, and the
only thing they could get was a turkey, 'cause the hunter
was a bad shot.

if he'd been a half decent shot, he'd a got a cow, and then
we would have been eating steak for thanksgiving for the
last couple hundred years.

so, thanksgiving is really a tribute to bad marksmanship.

hope this clarifies things.

have a happy last day of the world... i'm paying off all
my bills today, and postdating the checks for next week.

what is the rest of the internet doing to celebrate?

Hmmmm, guess it wasn't midnight, local, after all.

We'll see. Maybe that's tonight, instead.........

Appreciate the advice David, but already got a new unit installed yesterday. While I've looked into tankless heaters previously, I wasn't willing to make the conversion over the holidays.

We just got home from San Pedro after an evening with brother Bob (r2millers) and his wife, and a lot of family.

Think I'll "hit it" soon and get a good night's sleep.

Merry Christmas, all!
