Yes, that's what I meant to put. Not sure why I said normally open, but I was in a hurry to leave work when I typed that response. I edited it now... NORMALLY CLOSED!!
If there is a solenoid valve inline on yours Glenn, that would be my first suspect. The check valve before the pump should be there to keep water and air from blowing back up into the tank. Remember, the water is fighting boost up at the engine. The nozzles don't have a pop off valve, so boost can run back into the line without that check valve while the solenoid is open.
My system didn't come with a solenoid valve.. So, mine will do this very easily. I think I'll order a solenoid today. LOL. I put the nozzles in the top of one of the IC pipes, so I think they are higher than the tank, but that doesn't help if I have to park on a hill. Guess I will be parking nose up until then.
Glenn, I never thought of siphoning until this happened to you. Sorry this happened, but it slapped me in the face hard enough to fix this issue before it happens to me.
I left the cap ajar and it didn't stop the water from flowing on the ground. So that leaves the solenoid and check valve. I haven't checked at their web site for info yet, been busy looking at this:
Way to much money, $8,500 but its got a Ford reman in it that cost the guy $6,500 and only has 15K on it. The truck has 155K on it. No rust and in pretty good shape, just wanted to look because its a cc 4by4. I don't know about the short bed, its got one of those 5th wheel sliders in it for sharp turning, I don't know much about them. It drove OK but rougher then my 2wd. Its got a super chip and in tow mode put out 22lbs of boost, I was suprised at that. Tempting but I'll probably just stick with mine.
I'll check that solenoid and check valve out tomorrow.
Shopping, huh Glenn? Nice looking truck, but you hardly got room in the 8' bed! I'm not a big fan of the wheel well covers. You've done a LOT of work to yours, you really want to transfer all that over, or start over? I say as long as yours is ok, stick with ol' reliable! You know the history of it also. JMO.
Glenn, honestly,i could not care less what you do...just so you stay with an obs.
Usually im all for the cc's but for some reason that thing is doing absolutely nothing for me.i cant put my finget on ot but maybe the flairs with not much lift/tires or the awful running boards. And i cant think about transferring all your stuff. But just so you do not go to the dark side brother.

You know I like CCSB, and I think that without the awful running boards, all in white, without the wheel well covers and with the OEM rims, she will look a lot of better. About the short bed you dont need the 5th wheel slider, that is only IIRC for the real short bed 6ish or something not for the 8 as that, I dont know about the big fuel tank and tool box you use there, I think they wont fit tho.
Blame it on my wife, she saw the add. I just took a drive to look. Its tempting but I'm going to stick to mine. If I did get it I would put them side by side and transfer stuff until I had all my mods transfered. The brand new motor, cc and 4by4 is tempting.
I also didn't want to look at mine after I saw a small puddle of antifreeze under the front. GRRRR! Things come at you so fast sometimes I just want to get away for a few hours, LOL

Seems like when it rains it pours doesn't it Glenn. Look at the bright side though, she did get you home when she was hurtin'. Now you gotta pamper her a little LOL!!
I like the cc 4x4, but I don't think you'd like the short bed towing the 5er. Just my 2 cents bud.
ya, they look good from the side but I like my long bed. Besides, this fancy air bag ride plus stocks 5th wheel hitch I bought works wonders at keeping the shock of the 5er hitting the pickup under control. Its called a Trailer Saver if you wanted to google it. I wouldn't fit in the short bed!
I'm really sorry you got sucked into that. I don't think there is any vacuum worth that kind of $. I would check with your local BBB and file a complaint with them before spending $ on an attorney.
