OK Red, question. If it's not firing when I cranked it over today, is the HPOP system still pumping oil thru, I bet it is? I wish now I had put fresh oil in before cranking to blow out the cylinders.
Mike, he didn't damaged any thing but man, I had a ton of water in mine. If it hadn't gotten dark I would have kept working. Do you think I should start it without the IC on and just valve covers sitting there to see what happens or put it all back together before trying to start?
I'm assuming I can but do you know Bill if I can try to start it with the air cleaner off and the IC pipes off? I've heard that you can let it run with the valve covers off to see if your injectors are squirting oil out OK. I just don't feel like putting it all together and if it doesn't run taking it all apart again.
I'd start it with out the valve covers. If the IC had water in it I'd rig a leaf blower up to the IC and let it blow for a little while to try and get the water out
I would drain the oil and pump the oil out of the HPOP res too then refill with fresh oil before you run it. If you get water into the HPO system that's not a good recipe. Water + 3000 PSI = Steam. Steam = 11x the volume of water and more pressure = well, nothing good for injectors....
Once it starts and runs (idling for a few minutes, I thinnk I would take it out on the road and drive it until it warms up to operating temperature, then dump the oil and refill again.
Hopefully everything goes alright for you. You've been raving for a long time about how strong the bottom end of these trucks is, I guess it is time to see how tough the top end is!
