hydrolocked
Then I get caught up working and stuff and hit refresh.
Its old news.
I hardly ever have anything technical to add. lmao Too scurred of being rrrong.
Never mind Glenn, just do what these guys said... all of a sudden I feel like a
....
Unless I am wrong, I think Glenn had the nozzles out of his water meth system and was trying to de-lime them. It's hard to imagine that it would make it do this, but you never know I guess....
Man o man, I wish I'd been reading these today. I would have done a few things different. First of all, to test the water injection system you pull out the nozzle and use a 12v pump and blow a little air into the controller to get it to activate. Key has to be on to do this. My nozzle was stuck in the spyder so I thought I would order a couple new ones before I pryed it out of there. I did disconnect the nose and layed it over the fender when I blew some air into the controller and it worked as it should. I put the water hose on the nozzle that I thought was clogged, relieved it wasn't my pump, just a clogged nozzle. Walked away with my keys in my pocket. A couple days later I tried to start it, refer to #1 post. I emailed coolingmist and ask them how that could happen, he said check the insulation, alot of help. Before I tore into it today I pulled the water line off the nozzle and layed it over the fender. A little later I noticed it drip, drip, drip. Grrrr. No idea why this happened, I've run it for a couple of years now with no problems. I've had clogged nozzles before and tested before like I said and was told by coolingmist.
I bought some oil and a mitty vac, pulled the GP's out. When I pulled the IC pipe off the bottom on the passenger side there was some water. I used the vac and the second cylinder back on the drivers side was completely full. I tried every other cylinder and didn't find any. I was just about to jump into the truck and turn it over but I listened to the advice I was given and bared it over. Oh my God, water poured out of the rear passenger side cylinder onto the ground. There was also water coming out of the drivers side too. I'm either not very good with the vac or something, I don't know. Sure glad I bared it over. Finally satisfied I jumped in after disconnecting the UVCH and cranked it over. It spun like crazy with mist of water flying out of almost all the cylinders. I got my wife to turn it over while I watched and mist started clearing up. I didn't dump the oil, I probably should have.Tomorrow I'll put it back together
Todd, that's the first thing I thought of, at least I'm not on the road!
Travis, the motor didn't turn over but I did see the fan wiggle toward. I turned the coolingmist off until I could get new nozzles. Plus it was off with the key out. I have no idea why it was letting water thru.
Rich, I will shoot some WD 40 in, can't hurt.
Nate, I'm usually a hot head but for some reason I'm not this time. Like I said, if this happened on the road I would have lost it completely!!
Rich, I didn't do it in that order but I plan to dump the oil first tomorrow and refill with cheap stuff. If it starts I will not let it run that long and dump it again.
Travis, the oil on the dipstick was up at least a inch so I'm sure water will come out first. I still can't believe how much water came out when I bared it over.
Alex, that's a good post, happens to me. Its the thought that counts, Thanks
Nate, key off and controller off. I purposely turned the controller off to wait on new nozzles. Its a boost controlled system where I set it to come on at 8 lbs and at 14 lbs being full blast. What you do is turn the upper setting below the lower setting, that turns it off.
Mike, was it a thread above water like my situation or was it oil?
Thanks Aaron, it turned over good today but I'm not holding my breath.
Darin, it might have bumped over a tiny bit. Like an idiot I kept trying thinking the starter was screwing up. Then I put the meter to the batteries, 12.24v. Then for the heck of it I looked in the water tank and my heart sank. It was down about three gallons!!! Then I realize I was hydrolocked!!!
Jose, I appreciate it!!
