I opted for this routing because I was determined not to cut up my hood at all.

Made a temporary 3" intake while I wait on boot. I have an awful uppipe leak since I had to remove it, so boost/egt results not 100 percent accurate, but boost wasn't as high and EGTs seemed much lower today.

Seems to like the 4" intake tube better, up pipe still leaking but here are some numbers.

going up same big hill:

55mph, 5th gear

No IC, 7psi up the hill, hits 1000* by the top

IC, 3.5 psi up the hill, hit 850* by the top

Floored right now I only see 8psi (uppipe leak) but EGTs haven't got past 900 yet. Cruising boost on flat at 50 is only around 1.5-2psi. I need to hit the freeway. When I touch the inlet vs outlet pipes there is a noticable drop in temp. Pump I'm using is still maxxed out, and not sure on my timing.

welcome to the club known as "leaking up-pipe kills boost and makes truck sound like crap" club.

mine is kinda weird though. first gear hammering on it i will max out at 6psi, then i let off a little, it shifts into 2nd, pedal threw the floor and i can hit 9psi easy, then it hits 3rd and boost never touches 9psi again. seems like right now 2nd is my money gear for boost. IDK

Mine still whistles tho

Throttle response has dropped, but still feels like its pulling strong. Guess well see on the dyno next week (guess I don't need to worry about my head gaskets now LOL)

The uppipe? I've tried all the magical sealants and they all failed. I took pipes off, wire wheeled them spotless, applied on male ends, let them cure and no luck. My only luck has been let it be and wait for soot to seal it

are you sure they aren't moving causing it to re-break the seal?

one would Wonder if dumping a little oil in the manifolds or applying grease on the inside of the joint would cause the carbon to stick to it and seal it faster (also lugging it soon after applying the grease/oil).

i think that is what causes my issue. the parts are moving. i don't know why though. i checked ALL the bolts/nuts/mounting hardware and all are TIGHT.

i think if lugging it worked to seal it up then mine would be sealed up by now LOL. when my truck is in O/D i can make it look like i have a Cummins under the hood LOL.

This isnt rocket science here, there is no majic, it is not a band aid, it is what works. How do you think they seal up multi piece exhaust manifolds on the big rigs, they dont wait to let soot seal them up, the dot would love them for that.

If you really want to fix your problem fast get ahold of me, if you think I am full of it keep waiting for the soot to seal it or spend alot of money. If you need my number call NMB2 he has it.
