Maybe we should start a thread that is labeled the "No Spam Allowed Thread". LOL I imagine that most of the members just stick to their individual forums. I am in the Excursion, Superdutys, and 6.8L forums daily. I come over to the Iowa forum when the User CP shows a new post (bolded) and then am disappointed to see more spam, so I wander back to my other forums.

Morning Dennis! Looks to be a nice one here today, not terrible hot.... Be a good evening for qualifying and the late race. Be fun tomorrow as well. I get to have the honor of escorting one of our fine Marines to his first race he has attended. He came to us as the U of Iowa was the only place that did the procedure he needed to repair injuries he received in combat. My wife ended up taking care of him, and got to know him a bit. She wanted to see if she could get an autographed poster for him, so she called the speedway and asked if they would do that for him. They responded by saying they could do better, they gave him tickets to go! Since he isn't from around here, we are giving him a ride, and since he is to be discharged today, he will still need some medical observation, as it will be kind of strenuous. We have that all covered, so it should be a great way to pay respects to him for serving his country. I figure it is a small token for us to do for our servicemen. The speedway has continually been a great supporter for the servicemen as well.

Good Morning to you also Dennis. How do you like your Ecoboost? What did you drive before that? Just curious if people are really enjoying the new technology.

Roger, that's an awesome what you and the wife are doing!

Scott, I can respect your feelings on that. But, you might find that by posting in here more often, you can get other Iowa members to drop in also. The only other Iowa guys that I've seen in here is Roger and Rob (monsterbaby). So, keep coming in here, you'll be helping the chapter by drawing interest for other members.

My mom picked up a 2012 Edge with the Ecoboost. So far, she loves it, it has good get up and go, as well as car like efficiency. She commonly gets in the territory of 30 mpg with it on the highway trips. She has logged around 20,000 miles on it already...

That is awesome Roger. It is amazing how a little time like that will last a lifetime in his mind. I am glad I had the opportunity to serve Americans like you that stand behind the troops, especially the troops that did actually have to give something. I thank the Lord I only had to give my time during my service.

That is one of the great things about Iowa. They really are proud of our military members. I have never seen it like in Iowa. I have "lived" in just about ever state west of the Mississippi... maybe that was my problem. I needed to get away from all the liberals out west. LOL

I had forgotten to mention that it is the Indy race weekend out here, there will be 3 races total tomorrow, with the Indy being the finale. I am curious to see if they give him more of a package too. The season ticket holders get to go into the actual pits, I about bet they let him go too.

We are going next week to order my wife's new Explorer. We drove both the 4cyl ecoboost, and the normal V6. That 4 cyl in the Explorer is just a little under powered for that SUV.

Good point Pat. I did post a question when I first joined the chapter. Roger was the only response. It was an easy question, I thought, about campgrounds. I thought it would get a better response. Also, I was not at all referring to those who actually hang out or subscribe to the Chapter in my previous post. If you were in IL then I might complain about you being part of our conversations, but all our other neighbors are worth talking to. LOL

I haven't done much research on the 4 cyl ecoboost. I would imagine that would be a lot of weight for any 4 cyl.

Yeah, it is. Probably good for mileage, but just not quite enough grunt for my taste. I'm sure it would be bogged down, with 3 kids in the truck with us!
