I bought the Torque App for my Android phone last week. My bluetooth adapter should be here tomorrow. I have the main page set to monitor boost, coolant temp, FICM main voltage, Trans fluid temp, HPOP (ICP), and oil temp. Can someone let me know what the acceptable ranges are for HPOP? Plus, what else should I monitor. I have the second page set for fan speed, battery voltage, EBP, EGR error, EvapP, and EGR %. The other stuff I have is fuel %, HP, MPG, torque, trip mpg, trip mpg, and gear. Those are just extras and aren't really important. This looks like a good app. I will post some results after I get it working for anyone who is interested. Thanks
Thanks. Your video is what convinced me to buy the app. I hope I have the same results. I may need to upgrade my phone to something with a little larger screen to get the results I want.
I got one from ebay. I just looked at the seller's feedback and saw several feedbacks that noted that the adapter worked perfect with the torque app on Android phones. Then I went with that one. It was less than $20. The seller is brooklyn3490. When it gets here I will post the results here. Thanks for the link.
Got the adapter today and hooked it up. Works perfect. I have all the gauges set up on my phone. Looks like it does what it says it will do. I just need to get to Walmart and buy a mount to mount the phone on the dash. Right now I am monitoring pg1: coolant temp, trans temp, boost, ficm main power, hpop(icp), and fan speed. pg 2: barometric pressure, intake temp, egr command, egr error, intake psi, and MAF. pg 3: rpm, torque, and gear. pg 3: all items in one readout. pg 4: engine load, HP, and torque into converter. pg 5: readiness since dtc clear. pg 6: fuel %, distance to empty, fuel used, gps height, and MPG. If anyone sees something important that I missed and need to monitor please let me know.
I noticed you were getting trans fluid temp and engine oil temp. I'm not getting a trans temp output from the truck. When I try and add a dispaly, it doesn't light up in green like the other things that are available. Also, how did you get the EOT to register something other than 32. Thanks
OK. I went back and changed the equation for EOT and got it working. It read 327 at first but I had one of the values wrong. Now it reads close to what the trans and coolant are reading at idle. I Also got the trans fluid temp working. I am really happy with what I have. $4.95 for the app, $19.82 for the adapter, and $14.00 for the windshield mount. Finally monitoring everything I need, priceless.
Do you guys ever loose the bluetooth connection? Can this app show the same information as the scan gauge? WHich adaptor are you using? I like the fact its in color & wireless! Thanks for posting your comments/video!

As for the adapter, I use the PLX Kiwi bluetooth. I had purchased one of the $25 ones, but it was not connecting consistently. So I up graded.
Scangauge still has available more PIDs. (which you will find in this forum, and not on the SGII website)
But it reads the ones mostly watched for our trucks.
The Torque APP reads codes better. It will read the pending codes that SGII wont. (Unless they have upgraded it in their latest version, I'm not sure)
It also does record information that you can email the "data log to yourself. Gives a list of the gauges pretty much moment by moment.
Here is a picture of a data log:
Here is a screen shot with the gauge headers. The developer has been working on some bugs with the data log and Ford pids. I think he has gotten them worked out. He is pretty good at fixing them. Just remember, he is doing this app for all obd2 compliant vehicles.

I've only had mine for 2 days but it has worked flawlessly. I like the fact that you can go to Walmart or BestBuy and pick up an extra bluetooth Android phone for less than a hundred bucks and use it just for your display. When you're not using it, you can play games on it or browse the internet with a wifi hotspot. the scangauge won't do that. As far as the temps go, all minw ere within a few degrees of each other. I was getting low 180s driving in town yesterday in 93 degree temps. A lot of the stuff it will monitor may not be useful to everyone, but the main things like coolant temp, oil temp, and trans temp are a big step above the needles in my '04.
I like the idea of a walmart phone, because i use Bluetooth all the time. If you get a call you could answer it & after go back to the app manually i would assume...
