Does anyone leave the App. running all the time? I tried and mine wouldnt reconnect I have to shut the App. down and turn it back on. I just dont like having to start everything every time I go somewhere. If you do where is the setting at to make it reconnect?

I have not found that yet. And, I think it has some issues with how the phone deals with it.

I have been just using my SGII for daily readings. I use the Torque APP for long drives. More gauges on the screen.

I don't even leave my adapter in as it's always got power (and mine gets warm). You could try going into the main menu and into Settings, then into the Dash Installation Settings and select "Start Torque on Reboot". I haven't tried it. Have you played with the ODB2 Adapter Settings in the same "Settings" menu?? You can also choose to have it start up in the Real Time dashboard. Don't know if this is the sort of thing you are looking for, but there are a number of options that maybe you've tried, but that's where I'd start if I wanted mine on always...

I've tried all that stuff already. I just don't like having to start the app. Every time I go somewhere. I wad told that the default setting was to keep trying to connect hut might take a couple minutes. I've waited about 20min. and it never connects.

If I leave it running when I shut the engine off, it won't always reconnect right. It tends to lose several gauges. I've learned it's best to just shut Torque down and restart when I'm ready to go again.

Stumbled upon something interesting today gents, I see that there are "command" buttons available. What type of things do you think you could program them to do? Programming new PID's is quite out of my scope of practice.

On another note, has anyone figured out how to get the boost gauge to quit reading higher boost readings as vacuum?

What are higher boost readings, like above 30psi? I get negative numbers coasting downhill in T/H, but just slightly negative. There is a compensation somewhere in there for altitude, not sure if that'd affect boost...

On edit: found this answer from Ian for your Q:

Hi alhouko!
The boost calculation itself is correct, however there are 2 reasons why it may be giving you a different value than you expect, these are:
a) The vehicle profile information is not entered correctly, or you have the wrong vehicle profile selected. Engine Displacement and VE are important for boost to be calculated correctly on MAF based vehicles. If these aren’t entered correctly, the calculation will be out.
b) For MAP based vehicles, your MAP sensor could be adjusted for atmospheric pressure. In this case, you would need to use the boost adjust field in the profile to compensate for value given by the MAP sensor.
If you have those setup correctly, then you’ll get the right calculation (unless a sensor is faulty, which is unlikely). The type of OBD2 adapter used isn’t relevant to getting this correct or wrong.
Hope this helps!
Ian

Highest boost I've ever recorded was 28lbs. On my truck, pretty much anything above 18-20 lbs of boost reads as vacuum on my torque app. the dash gauge works fine at these levels, so im kinda perplexed.

That is odd -- I've hit 29.5 but I don't think it had finished it's relearning at that point (after all the work was done); now it's more like 28 max. Have you had a chance to check the vehicle profile/altitude stuff? I'm happy to check my settings for you...

Factory MAP sensor reads 2 BAR at max IIRC which is ~29 PSI. Torque most likely gets confused when it pegs? Not sure. I have a pillar mechanical gauge for boost.

I honestly am not worried about it considering the Ford boost gauge is one of the few gauges that actually reads accurate. It would be more handy for folks who have an 03-04 truck that doesn't have a boost gauge.

Hotwheelbill...not sure if this is the "right way" but here is how I got my Boost/Vacuum gauge. I hold down on "custom dashboards and themes" in the display, then tap add display. I pick the display type I want by tapping it also. Once I tap it it gives me the pre-loaded list for 6.0. Scroll to the bottom and pick "Turbo Boost & Vacuum Gauge" on my phone it is 6th from the bottom. Then place the display on whatever screen you wish. I have a Galaxy Note II phone.... FYI..not sure if the phone makes a difference.

Jeff brings up a good point -- You did load all the custom Ford PIDs 1st Bill? Then another way is just go into the realtime screens and tap your main menu (lower left corner) and select add display, etc. -- it is all the way near the bottom of the list : Turbo Boost Vacuum gauge.

Good luck!
