Cody: I'm watching the other two FICM voltages too, and on the main page. I noticed them drop when I stood on it going up a grade, so they do vary from battery voltage which read 13.8V at the time...
My only thought about those is that it doesn't seem like there's really any point to monitoring them though. It seems like there isn't anything you could do about it anyways plus the main concern is the FICM main power it seems.
my current gear is now kind of working, it works good until 4th gear, it skips 4th it goes from 3 to 5, so every gear after that is reading one gear high. I have the formula exact.

thanks, mike
Mine skips 4 after the trans is warm also. Does yours show 6 when your up to speed and cruising? It should 'cause as you likely know the TS is a 6 speed trans that only uses 5 at any time. Mine shows 6 as top gear...
This thread should stay near the top since over the years, we and Ford have figured out that certain DATA can help us save/maintain/prevent failures of known potential issues that watching the numbers can save you big time in doing PM. And Torque ($5) and a relatively cheap OBDII plug-in ($20) to your droid device (and they are getting cheaper all the time) gives one an inexpensive way of gaining access to this data...
So something new to add: found out working with a fellow FTE'er that there's a feature in Torque that allows one to Export a display screen or screens you've set-up (all the gauges, etc.) and Import them as well (as in share amongst ourselves).
Don't have a clue how we'd set up a sharing platform (where we show each other/trade our screens). But it certainly can be done....
I'm not really sure because skipping 4th seems weird because torque says I'm in 6th even when my truck is in 5th and when my truck shifts into 6th torque will display 6th

Even though it may seem weird that it skips 4th, that is how it is designed.
I was messing around one day, and thought I could get the tranny into 4th at will. Well, that didn't last, it's hard to do.
And it's a thing of beauty... Though I am thinking of getting a larger droid device (lots going on in one screen).
Thanks again...
This is what we need!
I have been e-mailing Pioneer to head this way. They currently have dash command in their newer systems. I shared with them how much we monitor our engines, and the money we can spend to do it.
Soon, we will just upgrade our stereos to get the gauges!
ok so forth is only used when cold, so when I'm feeling it shift twice while displaying sixth which is shifting into over drive, that isn't read by torque? sorry I'm just having a tough time with grasping this concept maybe someday I'll understand

Think of your trans as two transmissions for a second; a 3 speed in front of a 2 speed. There are 6 gearing combinations that you can make, but two combinations happen to be so close as to be identical, so the trans picks one to use instead of making a redundant, worthless shift to an identical gear. The computer has to label all the possible choices, and the one that's skipped is labeled as "4th". So 3-5 and 5-6 are the more common shifts, instead of 3-4 and 4-6.
Real technical info:
Shift speed chart on page 10 shows the both 4 and 5 shifts, but indicates 4 is the cold strategy.

Reason: Cleaned it up a little

Another Torque question.... I am trying to check for codes, and when I hit that tab, I get a an error that says it could not read PIDs, then it starts scanning and I get a 9100 code (netword error). Is there something I need to adjust in the app?
I am able to get realtime info. EOT, ECT, FICM, and etc.
What adapter dou have? Have you tried going into "Check Adapter" when this happens? I've had mine (cheap china one) just stop between engine starts, but unplugging it and re-plugging it resolves that.
I'd try working on the comm speed -- maybe that's causing it to drop. I'm pretty new, but from what I've read it's usually the adapter when comm issues come up.
I've got a second one coming (same unit) and I might even buy one of the better ones if I keep getting drop outs...
