She wasn't with me, I was a mile from home when a deer jumped out & hit my front fender. Damn thing dented up all my sheet metal!

That was a heck of a burger, Marty got his sandwich before mine showed, and I really was hoping I didn't order the same thing.
Needless to say, I didn't snack at all last night, and haven't eaten yet today, and may not until dinner time.
It was great to see everybody, and meet another member.
John, glad nobody was hurt, except a deer I'm sure has a headache today.

I agree the burgers were awesome even if a bit pricey.

Yep, first time I've seen Bob get a perplexed look when the food arrived. He and Marty managed to overcome the odds and put down the big a$$ burgers. Yall would have had to roll me out.

Great meeting the new folks. Good catching up with everyone else. I think WP is right about 12 being our largest group. I think 9 was the previous record. Pretty cool.

If we can get the date straight we'll probably combine the dinner and bonfire next month.

Enjoyed the fellowship and the dinner last night. Yea, I was still digesting that Big A$$ Burger all day today. I haven't even eaten a whole meal today, just snacking.

Spetember is here. Cooler days, and oh yeah, time for some more grub. The talk is the Saturday grilling and chilling on the 12th, over on the Bonfire thread. I think Matt said he was out. We should probably decide on another location, if that's the case. Either way, I'm hungary. Might be one of those mornings I have to hit the Farmers Market Restaurant on the way into work!

 

Sept dinner will still be on the 12th. Just need to pin down details. See the bonfire thread to add to the discussion. I'll update this thread when we solidify details.

 

I'll look in the other thread too, but as far as I know, the 12th is fine, and meet at Jordan Lake, is good too.

 

dam dumb deer..

I had one run into my daughters parked car at the lowes food store parking lot couple years ago.. slammed into the passenger front wheel fender and hoof marks across the hood, breaking off the driver windshield wiper and cracking the trim around the window..

there was hair everywhere and when the cops came out and looked he said it looked like deer hair. I hope doe head had a headache the next day..

your damage is worse for sure. hope the insurance company is accommodative on this accident. be interesting to see how it goes with them.

had a great evening and looking forward to doing it again. I do play in a golf tournament every sept 11th at neuse golf course, call guns and hoses.. it benefits the cops and fire heads. entrance is 60 bucks and covers lunch, golf and drinks.. great deal is you want to play..

 

Any meeting place figured out yet?
Is there a lake/shelter that's in the middle for the group?
