I just used the red permatex. Those gaskets and bolts look right. I ended up spending about $25 for the bolt kit and $12 for the gaskets IIRC

Yeah these prices are a bit high... So the red RTV gasket maker stuff? I think the company Permatex makes the RTV.

You pay for what you get, those prices aren't too high either, and since I've seen how Edge does things, they're probably top notch quality.

Thanks Encho!

Yes Dylan Permatex is the company that makes the stuff. There are different color but the red high temp RTV is the most universal and will work great for this application.

I had my local Advance order my Edelbrock kit so it cost me a bit more. But I get a crazy discount on general items.

Other then the sockets to remove the intake I just used a scraper and wire brush to clean everything up. Make sure you don't let too much funk fall down into the combustion chambers. Just have a shop vac handy. I stuffed towels into the holes while scraping. Make sure you let the intake sit a good hour before your fire up the motor.

Good info thanks. Do those Edlebrock bolts require a special socket? I will have to make a list of this stuff to take in...

Well you can get them in a standard hex head or 12the point like I got. The 12new point looks cooler but will be easier to strip of you over tighten. But since theseguys bolts wont see over 25 ft-lbs I think im good. So you can get either style. Plus it's a crazy small head in the 12 points.

Oh ok. I think i would stick with the hex heads. Though i think if they came in a powder coated black that would be even more awesome. The contrast would follow the theme of TGM with black/green.

$12.00 is cheap for gaskets compared to what I have to pay. Here they list for over $70.00. My price will be only around $50.00. The local place can only get the set with the pan, can't get them separately for some reason.

Looking for Bronco Original Seats

Hi,

I'm new to the Forum, and am looking for original captains seats in tan for my 89' Bronco. Anyone have any ideas? I am willing to have them shipped.

Thanks!

Hey Tally,

Might be better listing this in the wanted section. This is a BS thread. Tho maybe somebody has a set. Have you checked local yards?

And in case you didn't know, our term of "local yards" means the junk yards haha. The for sale section MIGHT have something but don't put all your eggs in one basket. Call around to any local junkyards that aren't ungodly far away and see what they have.

OH and welcome to FTE

Well got the skunky 2bbl carb off and the intake is ready to pull after a little blow off ,debris from sitting for some time. Of course some marmot poop as well. I have my very expensive gaskets for the Edelbrock. The price was around $55.00. Plus another $4.00 for the carb to intake gasket. I would have continued tonight but I didn't think the neighbors would like the compressor firing up at 12:30 am.

Sounds like fun. It's amazing how much gunk builds up on the intake.
