I like the photos people post of the truck in the dark or have only half the truck in the picture. Makes me laugh everytime.
Hey thats no laughing matter, before i got TGM i went to look at a 90's fox mustang. It was cherry red vert with a 5.0 and the pictures were taken but kinda small. One was from far away, top down, and the next was from just about in front of the front driver side tire. I thought "Hell yes this looks great"
then when we arranged a meet up, and i saw the thing coming down the hill man was i surprised. It looked amazing. Then he drove around the building we were parked at and parked behind us about 3 car lengths away. I got out and as soon as i entered that 20' zone my smile kind of dropped. The front where those goofy fog lights go, the paint was all shewed up and the fiberglass was a mess, the paint overall was horrendous and at the time he had the top up due to WA and it's random rain spouts. The top was even worse, it had 2 huge patches where it had been sliced open, the patches were "homegrown" and looked terrible. After greeting him i started by asking to see the trunk (my secret ) and he was kind of surprised "Usually people save the trunk for last" he says. Once it was opened the disgust went further, the trunk was a watery mess, not standing water but kind of that wet dew type of water, the "spare" was some fake Cobra rim without a tire. The other 4 Fobra rims were in terrible condition. After the trunk i moved to the engine bay. Mind you in his CL ad he mention the blower housing wasn't on and he had been meaning to put it on which ment NO HEATER... This was also before winter time.
Anyways, the engine bay was a mess, wires everywhere, oil everywhere but OH! a "new" water pump housing... Then i looked inside. Long story short, it was like a junkyard stang... nastyness everywhere. The pass seat was soaked, they were "surprised" broken glass under the floor mat, some sort of stereo thing in where the stock one was. It was obvious someone broke in and stole whatever was in there. On the driverside there was a bunch of wires handing down under the dash, the carpet was a bigger mess, and i went to lean into the back to check the floor and i noticed the quarter window wobbled back an forth. After finding out the carpet was soaked and riddled with bits of glass i asked about the windows, and he said something about replacing them and not knowing how to properly align them, he said it was probably an easy task. My mom pulled me aside and let me know that on the rear driverside Qpanel there was a big cut, like someone took some of those pneumatic pinchers the fire dept uses and cut it, then it was covered in bondo... After that i told the guy that it was too big of a project and i left. If i remember right he wanted something like 2500 for it.
The one I looked at had only one picture and it was fairly dark. I asked if it was the good side or the bad side. The owner told me the bad side. I thought wow it looks pretty good then. Right.
Did ya see the one on here a few months back? The guy took the for sale pic of his red dent through the window blinds of his house and they where just barely open.
I'd be furious lol. Scanning the Ebay classifieds...hey wait a minute! WTH!
Another thing I hate is looking at used cars online from dealerships and these bums have a "stock photo"......I can take and upload a picture with my dang cell phone in about 2 minutes...these guys wanna sell a $20K vehicle and can't even take a picture to post on the website.
The place i worked at never did that, but the pictures they took were generally garbage. And they don't know hoe to have the cars cleaned well before taking them. When i was working in the wash bay, they would send us a car that was filthy and say they need it asap for pictures. Being that we were the wash bay we had sold vehicles to wash and customer vehicles to clean up so ASAP ment nothing to us.
Been helping some friends move......love being the only one with a truck/trailer......
Anyway, yesterday and today, it was time to move the 16" x 16" x 1" patio pavers. A friend figured the weight. Yesterday I had 960 lbs in the back of the Bronco plus 3150 on the trailer (a 5x10 3500 lb unit). Ran 45=50 mph for a 37 miles trip to the new place and the old Bronco did great. Today I had 3600 lbs. on the trailer plus about 500 in the Bronco. Another good ride.
The entire trip I make is 26 miles empty (very little town, 45 - 65 mph), 37 miles loaded (1/2 town 45 mph tops), and 16 miles home empty (all town 35-45 mph). That uses 8 gallons of gas for the 79 miles plus some position adjustment for loading from different areas of the property. We also run the A/C all the way.
Made this trip now 8 times in the last three weeks. Glad it is a slow move.....gives my back a break. Next trip on Monday for soccer ball size rocks for the fountain....
