I bought a bumper from a guy today and he had this cool ‘78 F150.
On the way home I stopped for gas and spotted this sweet crewcab. 12v Cummins truck. I also saw a really nice blue highboy in the same parking lot but no pic.
I had to grab one with Rainier in the background. It’s about 50 miles away.
As a frequent visitor in Anacortes (I work on one of those big blue ships often anchored there at March Point near the Cap Sante Marina), I am always surprised that the older classics there really don't rust that much when you take into account how moist Anacortes and other places along Puget Sound get. There's a lot of Dentsides there, along with many other cool classics I often see driving up and down Commercial Avenue. I see a lot of daily-driver Dents and Bumps in Port Angeles as well. I guess you guys don't have as much salt in the air compared to those of us that live near the Gulf Coast. The Rust Bug is something we have to be very aware of here along the Texas and Louisiana coasts.

Which part of Texas? I have family in Kemah and Amarillo. My understanding is the farther north you are the less salinity in the water. You can usually find my rig on T avenue, there is another 78 back near the theater building in a neighborhood and a green 60 something a few blocks from there. Forgot the street names.

East Texas... 45 miles north of Beaumont.
My truck came from Michigan and was garage kept. Didn't have a lick of rust on it when I got it 7 years ago. The paint on the hood started to fail (i wonder why the hood paint on these always does that) and when the surface rust started, i had it all repainted. The 79 I gave to my son-in-law had the same hood issue. I also have a 78 with that rusty hood! There is a green 76 (i think) at a shop not far from here that some guy was building a 429 in it... same rusty hood. Rest of the truck looks okay.
