Dewd that truck looks like it got into a bar fight with a chebby. And I hear that if you think the Ford looks bad you should see the chebby.

I first spotted this sweet looking truck last weekend. But didn't realize at first that it was actually for sale at a local used car dealer. And that was because in the first two pics. the can be seen being parked at a closed abandoned bank next door to the dealership. However I think that dealer actually now owns or rents the property since they have quite a few vehicles parked on the property and there is no real estate sale sign on the property. Any who after I noticed that the truck was for sale by the dealer I went home and checked there website to see if it was on there and how much they wanted for the truck.

It's listed as a 79 F250 4x4. And that is what the suspension of the truck says it is. But if you notice the VIN on the sales paper in the rear window the truck has an f150 4x4 VIN. And I've been told that the truck has a 460 under the hood. The asking price is $10K. And to me is way over priced. And here is why.

Yes I know it has a lot of desirable aftermarket bolt ons that are hard to find. But here are the issues at hand. First is the questionable VIN. Second the truck should have catalytic converters, but doesn't. But does have out board headers and dual exhaust. Third I noticed the drivers door was unlocked when I was looking the truck over, so I opened the door and found the warranty tag with a common and incorrect pair of blind rivets attaching the warranty plate to the door. And the VIN number on the warranty plate (which we all know isn't the actual legal VIN number for registration purposes) matched the VIN number on the paper in the back window. Which now opens a whole new can of worms to be able to register the truck with the state. Then I also noticed that the federal safety certification sticker is missing from the lock pillar of the truck cab. And all of these issues mean that the truck won't pass a PA safety inspection.

Now I know most of these issues can be easily remedied. But the big and most important issue and the one that really affects the value of the truck will be the title work. Especially since the VIN number the dealer is listing with the truck is for a 150 4x4 and not a 250 4x4. And if they don't have the title for the frame of the truck. How can they sell the truck. Sorry for the long post, but thought you all would like the background to go along with the truck. At least the background that I know of that goes with the truck. To be honest with you, the stripes don't really bother me that much. And the paint job was done really well. However that double scoop on the hood is what bothers me the most. Well that and the $10k price tag.
