Seen this clean 79' this morning doing some errands around town. I was hoping to get to talk to the driver, but they turned off again. Can't say I didn't work for that picture. I could barley get it in my side mirror.
I swear I cringe every time I get another mail from this thread....every damn dent in the world looks better than the ol' black primer special. Geez, guys, do any of you ever get rust, dings, or bad paint? Freakin' thread is like watching a Hollywood movie...everyone is rich, cosmetically perfect, attractive, and drives an immaculate dentside!

Or you could unsubscribe to the thread, if it really does upset you.
You haven't seen my boy Ka'Bluey have you
There are some really nice looking old iron driving around. But there are more that aren't so nice.
Here's my Ka'Bluey, but I love him just the same

My paint was done by somebody who never did bodywork or painted a vehicle, thus is has plenty of ripples, dings, drips, bugs, thin spots, it is already faded and water spots have completely wrecked the hood and cowl. I really doubt people here would compliment my truck if they were able to see it up close in person. It is just super blue to the point that it looks fine up to about 10'.

Hey sometimes a 10' paint job is all she needs. As long as you can keep the rust off of her that's the important part. You'll get better with paint the more you do it, or you can get fed up and pay someone lol

I did paint and body work for years, and have a friend that will let me use his shop to paint Ka'Bluey. Hopefully in the next year or so, I'll finish the body work, and be ready for color.
Takes money to play

Yes it does! Right now I'm getting her running solid. Then I want to buy a welder and learn to weld so I can patch up my small areas of rust myself. Then I want to learn to paint lol, I just like the idea of doing everything myself on this truck. It will mean slower progress but the end result will mean so much more! My uncle is a welder and will be teaching me and my managers dad owns a paint shop that said anytime I wanna learn to just give him a call; I hope he knows I intend to do so (plus learning on my own truck probably sounds better than painting a customers car )
Ironically she looked better before I started (from 10' or more) but on closer inspection issues abounded the original bed was garbage ( luckily I can pull the few patch panels I need for the new one from it) core support rotted out inner fender rotted out ect ect and in a twist of irony my rubber cab mounts look great former owner said they never did them so projects always look worse before they look better and a ramen noodle budget doesn't expedite the process at all.

If you want to a see a beat down dent that is sure to make your truck look good. Check out my gallery of my 78 Explorer. Let's just say she was treated like a $2 ***** on a weekend night. And mostly by the original owner. Now I'm the third owner. The second owner bought it with the intentions of restoring the truck. But threw in the towel when he realized just how much the truck really needs. Honestly though all I see is a beautiful diamond. It just needs cut is all.
