Well, after a miserable weekend, I'm happy to report that we got the new house! I thought these idiots were going to back out on us Saturday night (the sellers), but they came to their senses. Now I just have to get all of the inspections done before we leave for Disney World on Sunday.
Pat - Congrats on the new house! It's just raining new house owners here at FTE, huh? LOL I'd be happy just with a new job! LOL Can anyone send me one of those?
Congrats on the new homes !!! ... Mat I'm with you and waiting on the new jobs parade to start ... My "part-time" starts today being a Landscape Quality ControlInspector ... or in reality a "gopher." Hell, I never cut my own lawn when I had one !!! 15 to 20 hrs a week (praying), cuz SS don't pay enough, and now gas @ $4.00 per gallon !!!
Well, all my FTE family out there be safe in what you do today !!!! Dave
The past couple of days we've been back & forth between houses moving last minute stuff, waiting on utility people to come shut them off, & cleaning. I'm so tired of fricken cleaning...I don't care if I ever see another sponge & cleanser again!
I got the kids all signed up at their new school & they'll be starting tomorrow. I can hardly wait...FREEDOM!!!! Actually, I'll be going through their stuff & getting rid of a bunch of it or atleast putting it in storage while their in school. That way they can't say anything or try to talk my out of throwing things away. LOL!
I'm just sitting here taking a break, waiting for Charter to come hook up our internet, phone & cable. Speak of the devil...they just showed up. Better get going.
TTYL...
Dave - Cool that you at least got a p/t job. I've been considering going that route at this point because of my unemployment running out in mid-May. That is scaring the heck out of me and my wife right now.
Bruce - Believe me, I've been trying that avenue too. Especially since doing the MTV gig, I put a bug in their ear in hopes that maybe they could bring me on or something, but they all live/work out of NY, so I don't know how well that would work with having me here. But I asked anyway, so we'll see. I did get someone else offer to have me shoot a Western Regional gymnastics event here in Vegas in mid-April, but unfortunately I'll be in SD for a job interview that weekend and a shoot as well, so I had to turn it down.
But I am trying to look on the bright side, I really am. It's hard though with everything going on. I just applied for two more jobs with the State but they are in worse shape than the city that I got laid off from last June. LOL But I figured if I don't try, it's an automatic no, right?
So, I really am trying to do what I can to stay positive. I know it doesn't sound like it right now, but I do have some things going, but I'm so paranoid to talk about them right now. Seems like when I talked about them before, they fell through. So, in my head, I'm thinking if I shut up about them and don't say a word, then maybe this time one of them will go through. I know, it sounds totally insane. I'd much rather talk/brag about it instead and look at it as a positive thing.
I guess I'm just mental anymore. But the good thing is I spent today working on the R1 (motorcycle) to get it ready for my Rider's School on Friday. I'm stoked about it. Maybe this will give me hope in my little pea brain about everything else that's going on.
I know exactly what you mean about talking about a possible job, and then having it fall thru. I thought I was going to get called for two different jobs, and they both fell thru.
Bruce, it's a V-10 with a Powerdyne supercharger and auto transmission, shift on the fly 4WD. The supercharger requires a superchip, which I've been told shortens the life of the ECM. It won't run without it though.
