To be fair, SDFD has a rep for underpaying their people. But still.
A janitorial position pays more than a fire recruit? Go figure. (

Yupp! The Fire Recruit is paid $25xx.xx/month. The janitor makes $26xx-$29xx/month.

I put X's in because I didnt pay attention to/dont remember those numbers.

If I make it and I get promoted to FF I, then I will make $3000-$3600/month. More than the janitor. But only just.

Plus, the pay for FF is just "base" pay. Like everyone knows, there is overtime involved.

True, however, I am sure there is OT involved in a janitor's position as well, although I can't see it being as much as the FF.

Hey Trey, are you still working at that retirement community for the time being?

No..

Lost my job there. January 12th was my last day. You could call it "fired" but they were nice and said "Change in relationship."

I made a mistake on someones medications (dont worry, no one was hurt), but I worked the same shift, on the same cart 3 nights in a row. And made the mistake all three times. That makes it 3 separate medication errors.

I do accept partial responsibility, but I think that management should share the blame, although I didnt argue the matter. Lack of training, and shoddy management practices led up to it.

Short version, they make up a schedule every day for the medications that need to be delivered for each shift. The medication I missed wasn't on the list because it was temporary for 10 days. The lady was supposed to get it 3 times per day, and I gave her the first two, but missed the third because it wasnt on the schedule. However, it was in the master book of meds so I COULD have seen that it was supposed to be given, but I had my schedule to go by, so why would I think to look for something I dont know exists?

So thats the short story. I do recognize how I perhaps could have been more diligent in my duties, but I dont think management should get off scott free. There were TONS of management issues there. And legality was constantly questioned. About a month after starting I began looking for other work because I didnt want to stay there because of the way it was being run.

I've been having a very productive week out in SoCal...hope everyone is having an equally productive week!

Looks like the Indy Colts have cut Peyton...we'll see what happens and where he goes...there's talk he may show up as a Jet...that would be cool...brothers sharing a home stadium...even though it is GIANT's stadium and is little bro's by name...LOL

Have a great day everyone.

Joe.

Pop,

Man...I landed Sunday...I had a long sleeved shirt on...

I checked my bag because I didn't want to mess with carry-on...

Delta LOST my bag...good news is they let me know they LOST my bag before I got off the plane (text and phone call)...so I went right to the baggage claim office and didn't have to wait to learn my bag wasn't there...

BUT...it was 90 freaking degrees on Sunday when I landed....I was DYING!...LOL...

Last week it was cool...this week 90...you guys sure have some wild swings...

The rest of the week has been much more comfortable.

BTW...I had my bag within 5 hours...so it could have been worse...

Joe.

I hate connecting flights, but sometimes they just don't go non-stop from where you are to where you wanna' be.

You make the next flight, but your luggage gets to play catch-up, thanks to the ramp-ape at the hub....

You never know when it's gonna be hot this time of year, Joe...90 one day, 65 the next. Layers

I've got a full plate today. Lots of running around, washing and polishing to do today in preparation for Saturday's season opener in Phoenix.

Had a busy as hell day yesterday running around getting errands done between gigs.
Took the 6.8 into the spa to get all her fluids and filters renewed as I had to drive to Vegas last night. Upon driving out of the dealer felt a little steering bump. Got worse as I drove. Went over to see Armando at AA tire (the worlds best tire dealer) and of course I had one coming apart. So she got two new fronts. Just what I needed on a scramble day. Seems life is that way.
BTW, I'm only getting about 40-45k on a set of fronts. Is that jiving with the rest of y'all?
On a more fun note, I'm picking up Nancys '61 on Monday. It looks awesome.

Hey Sean. Did you ever get your spring adventure wrapped up on the Ex?
