1.5 inches of rain in Camarillo today. Sun popped out for a minute at 5:30pm. Spent the day spiffin' up another coleman 220 lantern.

We may share a common past-time, Sean.

Just picked up a 220K, a 228E, and a 425F last Thursday. A guy cleaning out his storage locker in Tarzana.

The 425 cleaned up nicely and fired right off. I wanted a stove anyway, so didn't hesitate calling on the Craigslist ad, and the two lanterns came with. I did have to replace the cap seal, and though I already have some on order, I was able to find a green metric O-ring in the garage that fit perfectly for testing.

The 220 needed a couple of mantles (which came in a bag in the deal) and fired right up.

The 228 won't hold pressure very well, and while it WILL keep burning, gets dim as pressure bleeds off. Will have to diagnose and get more parts on order.....

Are you going to re-finish that 220 fount? If so, what are you using for paint?

Pop, thus far I've never painted one, but I'm considering it with this one. Also a slight dent in the font that needs pulling or bondo. I really like the used look of scratched paint and surface rust. I hear on the forum below, the top vent can be re-porcelin'd. I'm giving these away to nephews for Christmas 2012 - every kid needs to know how to run a lantern!

You know, a guy like me might be willing to buy some restored lanterns. The new ones suck. IMHO.

Obsession?
As a member of FTE I have no idea what you mean
Pay no attention to the amount of trucks in my driveway.
Now who has a shortbed 2 wheeler 67-75 that I can buy?

As members of FTE, I am sure we all have a touch of obsession. The hard part is making sure it does not turn into full blown addiction.

Looking at that pic reminds me we're due for a 7.6 shaker. Need to get out the putty and stick the glassware down.

Haven't been posting much but figured I'd update y'all. Convinced the wife-to-be that an apartment up here with our situation just isn't a smart idea. I just can't afford to get locked down in a lease with where I'm at on my current project. I found a newer and much bigger 5th wheel that I should be picking up on April 7th to replace my current 5th wheel. Should make for a nice start at least.

Alfa 2006 SEE YA 35RLIK / 60 DAY LIMITED WARRANTY

My current rig is a 31.5' with double slides, the new one is modeled as a 35' but is 39' overall with triple slides. Definitely a big upgrade compared to my current rig.

Nice! Are you trading in the old one, or selling it?
