Few details were immediately available, and it's unclear exactly what killed the woman.
Uh, a canon.
The incident occurred in a mobile home park in Potrero on the Mexican border.
What a great visual.
Does laughing make me a bad person?

"The incident took place when the woman's husband and another man were working on a cannon shortly after midnight."

I know its been a while.. I've been following your guys conversions though!
On March 20th I have a test with San Diego Fire-Rescue for the position of Fire Recruit. The position is for people with little to no fire fighting experience. The process includes Application, Weeding through applicants, Testing, Interview, Physical Fittness, and final selection.
If I make it though the whole process and get selected. I will be offered a job as Fire Recruit. After this I will start my job in a classroom. I will be paid to attend a 16-week fire academy to learn the ropes (no pun intended). Upon completion of the academy I would be promoted to Firefighter I. At that time I would be thrust into the world of first response and assigned an engine.
Its a great opportunity, but I have to earn it. Over 5000 people applied and I made the first cut. I suspect that anywhere from 200-1000 people are left, but there may be more depending on how many people they are willing to let test.
Last time I took a test like this I passed with 83%. I am hoping to do better this time, and have been supplied a study packet from SDFD.
I have been applying to jobs left and right, willing to take anything thrown at me. I want this SDFD job, but am not relying on it. I even applied for a custodial job at my college. Which by the way, pay more than Fire Recruit at SDFD.
To be fair, SDFD has a rep for underpaying their people. But still.

Changing subjects...Quick intro I have not made a formal one yet have been busy blah blah excuses excuses..
Just got back from seeing the Levitated Mass that is heading to lacma. It is currently at south st. And palo verde in the city of Cerritos/Lakewood. I asked the information guy what route they are going and when are they going to turn that thing. They are going to head west on south st. And make a left on Paramount blvd. He said ETA at south and paramount is 1030.
I will be out the standing on the corner watching this behemoth turn. Was wondering if anyone else was headed outs that way ?
