Hope they fix it for you John. Its just crazy to me that the techs have been in the truck while its going all gear crazy and they cant/wont fix it. And now it cuts off while driving, that is a definite safety issue. I am sure NHTSA would love to hear about that...
The new Rams are looking pretty nice, not too excited about GM offerings though.
I'm contemplating that Tim. The buyback looks like it's out the window from what the CSR said. Lemon Law or trade for another brand.....I'll just have to see.
My 2 cents..........
John...Buy back....meanwhile proceed with The State Attorney General's Office. Maybe the State getting involved will make a difference.
John. You should of asked her if this crap is normal.why do they have a few tsbs out.on crappy shifts. And those tsbs haven't done a thing to help your truck. Also you can tell her there are plenty that are just putting up with the crappy shift. As in mine shifts so flawless.maybe they would like to come ride in mine. In addition. Those flippin morrons tell everyone the transmission has to learn how to shift...
So they took a new one for you do drive hooked up, and it hasnt been drove enough to learn how to shift.now thats ignorant on all who was in that truck but you. Dont let em off the hook. If it doesnt have a problem. Ask her why have they been trying to fix it if as they said normal for that truck. Oh no bull poop.
Well, talk about adding insult to injury. I took the truck in Wednesday and they were going to fix the TPMS issue, look at the transmission issue (again for the seventh time), and perform the TSB for the exhaust fumes in the cab. The diesel tech wanted the truck to sit overnight at the shop so it would be cold when he worked on it since the location where the tube is gets pretty hot, pretty quick making it tough to work on. No problem, I'll pick it up Friday.
I got there at about 5:15 this evening and it was still sitting in the shop. The tech called in sick today and they didn't think to give me a call to let me know it'll be at least Monday evening before it's done now.
I've just about got to laugh about all of this now. It's so ridiculous that it's actually becoming quite comical.
I hope all of you have had a good Friday. I'm so glad it's the weekend now because this week has felt like five straight Mondays.
Bummer John, Sorry to hear that. I can't believe they are saying these are normal characteristics of the transmission. As much documentation as you have on the transmission problem you are having, you should talk to her supervisor. I'm sure they don't just buy a truck back with out a fight. It sounds like it is time to fight my friend.
Yeah, I've been pretty bummed out today.....peaks and valleys all day.
I've got some calls in to some people right now so we'll see how it goes. The CSR lady asked me today what my next course of action would be. Really? They're forcing my hand and forcing me into a corner and they're asking what I'm going to do next?
I'm not going to put Tom in a position of having to clean this thread or close it because of legal discussions but I will say that they can plan on a fight cause it's a comin' and it ain't gonna be pretty.
I wonder what would happen in you hooked up a transmission controller like the Black Max and reprogram the transmission? Lots of questions go along with that but I am just curious. I also wonder how much a PCM costs? It seems to me that it is an electronic problem or maybe it is the PCM? It sounds like Ford has already worked on the truck a lot, is it possible to swap in a PCM for a test?
Tim, those are good questions but unfortunately I have no answers for them.
I'm so fed up with this whole situation right now, I can't even begin to express it in open forum....it would be pretty bad for a moderator to get an infraction for bad words.
Monday is a new day and I'm going to be on the phone to a lot of people again. It's not over yet.
Good for you John, Your right it doesn't do any good to voice bad words on an open forum. I'm not much on bad words anyway so I try not to use them even in my day to day conversations.
Good Luck John
I'm headed to the shop, catch up later.
As the PCM works or not works, I would consider internal problem to the gearbox. When the internal problem is taken care of then reflash of the PCM may be good then/now.
