I seriously think he should walk in there and play the moderator for FTE card with many loyal followers...between that and the badge, they ought to get down to business and fix this problem. I'm thinking that I know just about enough about transmissions that it's the torque solenoid shift converter thinga ma jig that needs to be looked at. That or it needs to be rebooted.
Folks, that was sarcasm. I'm not a tranny fix it guy. I'm more of a tranny break it guy
I've had that lurch after it's been in 3rd for a few seconds which I attributed to TC lockup. I could be wrong though. It has been far more noticeable though since the last round of work they did on it. The other night was bizarre. The thing just felt like someone had turned off the ignition and slammed on the brakes. Enough so that it startled my wife and kids. Lights didn't dim or anything like that but it nose-dived right when it started to shift from 2nd to 3rd. I never lifted off the accelerator and it picked right back up and ran fine after the shift into 3rd.
I really, really hope they can figure it out.
Yep, it's as if the engine cuts out and causes the lurching even though the engine is still running.
The process is:
Accelerate, shift into 3rd, continue to accelerate for a few seconds, stall, jerk, buck, back to acceleration and all is well with the world.
It is crazy.
I'm hoping to get this all sorted out tomorrow. I'm going in to work until 11 and then I'm taking off so I can meet the Ford people at 11:30. I'm cautiously optimistic that they'll get it taken care of tomorrow, one way or another.
On another note, I had the crappy shifting issues every time I drove it today so I'm confident we can reproduce the symptoms tomorrow.
Lastly, our girls won another basketball game tonight!! Woot!
They're doing great. In fact they're playing so well they're making me look good....and that takes a lot.
