Well we managed to be just out of range of a snow / ice storm that's wreaking havoc in many places in Virginia today. We're just getting rain and cold temps this morning. On the bright side, we're taking the kids snow tubing this upcoming weekend....gonna be a blast even if I do hate winter, cold, and snow.

Sure it may not be as planned, but it may be better or it may be worse, but I wasn't going to let it define me. We all know the outcome...I got lucky. The parts came in and the little Ford dealer that could put my truck back together. 5 days to spare if I recall.
I hope you get your truck fixed, but if you aren't satisfied...MAKE them get it right. You deserve it.
Thank you very much for the kind words my friend.
My words for the day are "cautiously optimistic".

Yup Gerry...got to keep the faith for sure. I'm confident it's going to work out.
You and me both John. It will work out.Patience is the key. You and I are a lot alike in that way. It tkes a lot to get me upset. But I can just kill them with kindness, and most dont even know how to deal with that.but it had always worked out.
I talked with Ford Customer Care this morning and again a little while ago. In the first conversation, the rep said she would proceed with the buy back paperwork since it hadn't been repaired to my satisfaction and I was still experiencing problems.
I just got another call from her saying that it would be a waste of time to proceed with the buy back because the dealership and the field engineer are saying these are normal characteristics of the transmission. I explained that the truck just shut down on the road the other night going from 2nd to 3rd and then started back up on its own. If that was what they consider normal characteristics, they're completely insane. She said I needed to be able to duplicate the problem with the truck shutting off and I asked her if that meant I needed to just shut it down in the middle of the road and wait for a tow. No answer.
I told her to make certain to document the fact that I'm currently shopping Ram and GMC trucks. She asked me if I'd thought about just trading this truck on another Ford.......lol. Nope. If you can't make mine reliable or buy it back and provide one that is, you're losing my business.

Sorry to hear that John. Are you thinking about letting them buy it back. Not sure how many times its been to the dealer but it might be lemon law time. 3 times trying to repair the same issue unsuccessfully gives you grounds to proceed.
I'm contemplating that Tim. The buyback looks like it's out the window from what the CSR said. Lemon Law or trade for another brand.....I'll just have to see.
