I have to get rental cars when I drive for work related trips.
While rentals are cheaper than expensed mileage, it's disappointing.

Your truck should make a left turn on the way home and break down in Bristol.

Have a great trip my friend!

I just got my new water tank so I get to see what 2,800 lb in the box feels like tomorrow.

I will not be sleeping tonight either
Prob just sit in the truck all night and wait for the family to wake up so we can head out!

I did also re confirm Monday that 1,800 lb is NOTHING for these trucks

Be Hooking the 5th wheel up today and heading out with the camping club this weekend.

Cant wait for the smile as I out run them all in the hills

Why does it bring smiling pleasure

They all used to leave me far behind in the hills when I had my 99 Dodge Cummins. Payback is a Big Smile

Well it was a great day!

478 total miles. Used 23.782 gallons and was within 10 miles of making the entire trip on one tank. So, 468 miles on 23.782 gallons comes out to about 19.7 MPG for the trip....hand calculated. That's exactly what my MPG readout said as well. I had the cruise set between 70 and 75 for the duration of the trip with the exception of about 15 miles of non-interstate two-lane backhops. Probably could have eked out a little over 20 MPG if I'd have kept it around 65 MPH.

Traffic sucked but it always does anytime you get around Richmond, Charlottesville, and Roanoke. But I was happy as a pig in mud the whole time.

It was 82* outside and it was a beautiful day with a few rain showers thrown in. Come on Summer!!

God I love my truck!!!!

Joel, I used to go to the Bristol races every Spring and Fall and absolutely loved it. I don't go down there anymore. Just don't have the patience to deal with the drunks and crowds.

Yeah, I know what you mean John. I have gone to many Bristol races, I always camp at hill and dale and pretty much keep to ourselves. It's fun but not something to do every year.

Now, camping at the Charlotte track and at road Atlanta for the petit lemans is great for the family.

Great mileage! I can't get my truck to run in the 19 mpg range on the interstate. Interesting......

The boyfriend (well, actually fiance') and I have a wedding (not ours) to attend in DC in May. We're seriously thinking of driving rather than flying, would love to take a long trip in Evelyn. Just not sure which would be more economical, given the way diesel prices are going. I think it'd be fun though.

Ive never flown anywhere in fact the farthest my feet have ever been off the ground is when the old uprite silo was full of silage. If I cant drive ther I dont need to be there.

10 hours of driving is my cut off point for flying.
Lost track of how many times I’ve flown a while ago.
Waiting in airports is something that about drives me crazy.

No question. Drive! I travel every week driving. Next week I drive from home to Horton, KS. I love seeing the country, watching the terrain, trees, people, and everything that comes with it. Only time I will ever fly is overseas or to the Caribbean. Even then, I'd rather take a cruise ship to st. Maarten than fly!

But, fuel is money and I don't mean to disrespect your opinion. I would drive even it cost $200 more to do it. Worth every penny to avoid the TSA and all the airport hassle.

I too love driving and being out on the road. I can't pin what it is that I like about it, but I like it right up there with flying (fighter jet flying...not commercial flying).

Time and sometimes cost are the two factors that would put me into a commercial airliner.

Headed out to ride in the morning...the 4wheelers fit perfectly in the trailer. First time they have all been in there at one time.

w00t! Loaded up the trailer and going to head North a couple of hours to my cousin's land to ride tomorrow. Should be pure heaven pulling the trailer, riding and then drive home!
