Nice looking truck.
I have never seen someone put the old oil bath breather on a newer engine. It helps give it a more original look. Was it converted to use standard air filters or is it still an oil bath filter?
Are you going to paint it or leave the patina?
Be sure to keep us posted on your progress.

Nice to see another F250. Mine in the avatar is now pulled apart and is being rebuilt. The engine is a 460 with a c6 trans. Is your rear end on yours original. I changed mine to a newer 3.73 ratio rear.

Clifford Performance: 43-4650 Ford 240-300 Dual Weber Carb KIT.

Can you tell what engine I will be using ?

I was chasing wires today and found the ECU stashed behind the kick panel, oh well, new engine !

The air cleaner unit is original and untouched, as for the body it will stay as it is for now.

I believe it is the original rear end under it, my plan is the use a newer 250 rear end so to keep the 8 lug wheels, and the 250ness of it.

Found a I6 300 for $250 but it's EFI, how big of a chore is it to set up in these trucks ? I admire the benefits of it but would but just as happy with a Dual Weber Carb setup. Also my hunt for the elusive C6 transmission is still going, now do i have to find one that is built solely for the 300 or is there an adapter plate that can expand the search area ?

I'm finding more and more info that i never knew about that one has to know for these builds, It's gets a bit too much at time, but all i have to do is take a brake and go look at my truck and i want to dive back in.

Welcome to the site, get comfortable and enjoy the site as much as your build. With out the site and all the friendly folks here, many of wich are experts in what you are about to do, I would have never got anything done on my truck. Thanks for posting your pics, it looks as if you have got a good truck to work with. Ill be seeing you around.

So i Found what axles i can swap out to retain the 8 lug and gain discs, the F450 4x2. From my searching all of them have an I Beam front and discs. So now that problem is solved, now on to the motor.

I really, really, really want to drop a gnarly diesel in it but the funds and skill level are still lacking, so for the first go I'm going with the I6 300ci, carb not efi, and a C6 trans. So do buy a newer motor and convert it to carb to obtain a not worn out block or is that not an issue ? and the trans do i buy used and have it rebuilt, or buy a remanufactured for an arm, leg, and left nut ?

Well Diary, I'm signing off now, off the bed to dream of loud exhausts and big burnouts.

If it were me, I'd buy a used carbureted engine and have it rebuilt. If the cylinders have too much wear it can always be bored out. If you can't find a used carbureted engine, then rebuild a used EFI engine and convert it to a carburetor...

I've got a 91 F-Superduty ( aka F450 ) and they are not 8 lug. They are a 10 lug wheel.

Not sure if the newer Super Duty F450 is 8 or 10 lug. If they are 8 lug they would be a metric bolt pattern not the same as your F250.

thanks for the heads up fordman, back to the internet, oh I'm already here.

In other news, I have found that my trucks 3.8L or the 232ci has a C6 bolted to it. The dealership said that it will not fit the 300ci, is this true ?

The 300 has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the SBF V8. I don't remember for sure on the 3.8L. I thought they had the same bolt pattern as the SBF V8 too.
