Dear Diary . . .
So i spent all last night researching info for my motor, the 300/6. There is so much stuff out there it's almost overwhelming.
Here are a few:
The plan so far is to strip the EFI off, leave the manifolds, and bolt on a 4bbl intake with a Webber 2bbl.
Here are a few:
- 240 head between 72-74
- EFI maniford
- Offy intake
- Comp cam
- have the block Magnafluxed
- Balance the bottom end
- install ARP screw in rocker studs

- 'Deck' the block to improve compression
- use flat top pistons
- Steel, not fibre, Timing gears
- Studs vs. Bolts for the head
- ARP head stud kit
- use a Felpro HP head gasket
- under intake carb heating
- Offy C intake
- Autolite 2150, Rochester 2G or 2GC, Webber
- Difference in Heads - 300 # xxTE , 240 # xxAE
- use Mr. Gasket #260

well it's been awhile, but i have the truck in parts and starting to plan for my first step towards Truckdom. I got a corner in the basement cleared out to rebuild the motor, so i believe i'll start there, or should i get the front disc kit ? . . . . . I'm thinking motor, that will be a good accomplishment towards it.
Frame Coating time with POR-15
Wow, it's been awhile. So i got the rebuild kit in, engine build has been cut to get it running, and polish the head.
Getting ready to send the frame out to get coated with POR-15, is there anything i need to pass along to the paint shop, they have used it before, but it sounded like only two or three times. I trust the shop so, is there anything i need to bring up that would be special to using this product ? does it build up thick through the bolt holes, etc
And when i go to assemble do i need to give special treatment to the bolt holes so as not to remove any coating, or is it that hard ?

So how far do strip the frame down to paint it (POR 15) ? do i remove the leaf spring brackets, and running board brackets ? then what do i use to attach them back on, grade 8 bolt good enough ?
So it's been a while and i have been dragging my feet.
Now it's time to kick my a@@ into gear and start working.
The plan to hopefully get it rolling by, no later than, November. That give enough time to run the bugs out before heading out for the LA road trip.
So right now i"m doing a build list with parts needed and price ranges, that will get posted soon. so as my brother would tell me "Don't be lazy, and get it done!"

, while others did it right!
Good luck on the truck!!
