Its mostly highway but with lots of stoplights. When i had 3.73s and 33s i was averaging around 12 if that gives any sort of baseline. On the freeways at 70mph i could get 15. When i went to 4.56 and still had 33s it only went down slightly. When I added the 35's i could feel a huge difference. The tires are just so much heavier than my others. Also the 35s are MT's and my 33s were highway michelins. Then i added the tune that makes it easy to open the throttle. This has also been during my gear breakin period and i also havent been on the freeways at all.
Gotcha that makes sense, going from a low resistance Michelin to a MT is going to make a decent difference and then all in town. I'm hoping my habits will keep it around 11 to 12, I am roughly getting 9.5 hauling my 6k travel trailer but that was quite a bit of rural roads and corners.
Filled up yesterday - 14.2 mpg hand calculated. The Guess-O-Meter said 14.6 mpg for the current tank. Just hit the one year mark at the end of this month - still pleased with the V8.
2018 f350 cclb 4x4, at 3900km on the odometer, lifetime average is 10.8mpg, pull my travel trailer best I got was 10.1mpg, empty on highway doing 110km/h (67mph) can get 16mpg unless there is a headwind
2018 F-250 XLT 2WD 650 miles so far. So far 95% of the miles have been highway in the very flat South Florida. On first fill up the computer calculated mpg slightly higher than hand calculation, but not by much. 70 mph seems to be the sweet spot.
My truck, 2015 XLT, 6.2, CCLB, 4.30, 4X4. Hauling a 9.5' truck camper, doing 60 MPH in Northwest USA (i.e. some mountain driving), on longer trips I have averaged 11.5 MPG.
Reviving an old thread. Have a 2018 F250 lariat supercrew, 4wd, 4.3 rearend. Have now driven 32,805 miles. 10,000 towing a 5700 lb Lance 1995 TT and 22,800 mixed driving with a couple of long non-towing trips thrown in. Towing has averaged 9.9 with lows of around 6.9 (heavy head winds on the plains) to 12.1 (flat to downhill and no wind). Non-towing have averaged 12.9. This has been a mix of lots of local city stop and go driving, some short (less than 100 mile) trips and two longer trips. City driving here in Salem Oregon really sucks it down. I did have one trip of 1277 miles with 3 people, ice chest (full of fish on return trip) and luggage. Mostly 60-65 mph and averaged 14.6 mpg. The other long trip was fromSalem to N Dakota to go pheasant hunting. Two people, 150 lbs of 2 labs, dog crates, luggage, gun stuff, food and sleeping bags. Drove Interstate from Oregon thru Boise up past Yellowstone then to Bismarck. A total of 4103 miles. 65-85 mph and averaged 12.9 mpg.
Overall continued to be very pleased with this truck and have no regrets.
I agree 100%. Not worried about mileage, just track because it’s interesting to me. Kind of a game lol.
I track my somewhat when pulling long distances pulling just for something to do and it gives me a idea if I get a bad load of gas by resetting instant mileage meter between fills but I don't worry about it. It was kind of interesting with our 2 1/2 day 1200 mile run from AZ to our homebase in Nebraska to get home to wait out what's happening now it averaged 8.2 with a lot of 70 mph witch is something we don't normally do when pulling our trailer. This wasn't our normal trip but we aren't going through normal times but the 6.2 was up to the task and never complained, we normally pull between 55 to 65.

Nice to see another local Oregonian in here! I'm just south of Independence and @RainDesert is over near Albany.

We typically average 8.4mpg with our huge TC in and towing the SxS behind. Our 6.2 has also always been up to the task. And with the mods I've made to my truck, I really, really enjoy it.
Even though fuel mileage is not the reason to buy one of these trucks, efficiency is a sign of a good motor. Knowing how fuel efficient your truck is in varying situations is a part of knowing your truck. And if you know your truck you will notice changes that may indicate issues that you can head off before they become problems. Plus like @Skimr said it is sort of a game you can play involving your truck
[QUOTE=Texas-Toad;11445624]I know there have been other posts asking about mpg, but I would like to see some fresh numbers.... I did a search, and maybe I missed some recent posts... But here goes...
I am looking for regular UNLOADED mpg... I am looking at a F-250, 6.2L, Crewcab, 4x4, 8 foot bed, 3:73 gears.... If you have a similar truck, I would like to hear your numbers.
Please list your average mileage and what you estimate the city/hwy ratio is, and do you consider your self a conservative, regular, or lead-foot kinda driving style....
Same truck but with 6 3/4 ft bed. Stock tire height. Fuelly says over last 37k miles I’m at 12.3 combined did/towing/ off highway. More important than miles per gallon is dollars per mile. Right now my gas burner is costing me about $20 more in fuel for100k miles....doing the exact same job my last diesel did. I drive it conservative same as all my vechicles
i could tell you my unloaded mileage is 16.3 and my towing 9k tt is 9.3 but that’s not the whole story. I achieved both of those numbers once. Real world is prob in the 13’s dd and mid to low 8’s towing the camper. Also mine is a ‘16 MY (w the 6R140). The newer tranny in the ‘17 250s prob can do a bit better.
