Just filled up tank #6. Hand calculation says last tank at 13.9 mpg and Guess-O-meter showed 14.3 mpg. Not bad for 87 with 10% ethanol. This is the first tank on summer blend which is mixed with the remaining winter blend fuel. Very impressed with the mileage of the 6.2L so far. Very impressed with this truck. I will post up later after I run a few more tanks of summer blend.

Just hand calculated my second tank of fuel and the truck now has a little over 1000 miles on it. Very happy with the 14.1 mpg with mixed use driving. I was averaging around 14.5 with my previous 2017 Ram 3500 with the 6.7 diesel.

14.1 is extremely impressive for an entire tank used hand calculated with mixed driving. How many miles were on that tank when you filled it up? I just ask because I usually fill up with roughly 300 miles on the tank and I have never hand calculated over 14 with either of my 6.2's. Thanks!

So I'll try to make this short. I bought the truck that was an out of state dealer trade. The Ford dealer in Dodge City Kansas drove it out to Colorado and took another truck back there. This was the only 4.30 geared truck I could find in the state at the time. I had the dealer do tinted windows and a Line X bed liner so they had to drive it between those jobs and deliver the truck to me. As soon as I received it, I topped it off to start the mileage recording. I put 4.123 gallons @ 487 miles on 3/21/18. I then drove until 4/10/18 when I filled up again at 980 miles. 493 miles driven on 34.917 gallons of fuel.

I just made a trip from IN to KY and back. Hand calculated at 14.1 mpg. Dash meter was a little optimistic at 14.5 mpg. Not bad considering I drove 75mph most of the way there and back, mostly on cruise control. I only have 680 miles on it; just got it late last week. 3.73 gears in a 4x4 SCLB. Not bad IMO.

Am I the only one who has a lie-o-meter that is pesimistic instead of optimistic? Hand calculated is usually a little higher and the gallons used feature always says that I used about .2 to .4 more than I actually did for a tankful

No, mine has been pretty pessimistic as well. Especially when hauling the new truck camper. I'll be taking careful measurements this summer when hauling it around and comparing to the lie-o-meter.

*edit* Of course, we're assuming that the fuel pumps are being honest.

Mine was always within .2 mpg +\- when I was stock. Now that I've regeared, and went to larger tires, my speedo is 5% slow vs. GPS. When I factor in the 5% on miles when hand calculating, my average is always a little better than the dash display.

I'll be thrilled if the computer gets even 1 mpg close to hand calculations. My commuter Nissan Versa is always 3-4 mpg higher than true mileage.

Mine is usually within a 2-3 tenths of hand calc and I have seen the hand calc be better than the computer a few times as well. Hand calc says ave is 11.1 and so does the computer though. 11K miles and love the truck and the 6.2L

Just took a 1000 mile trip pulling about 7K
Went over the Continental Divide headed West with a headwind...
Came back a week later, truck was parked that entire week, headed East over the Continental Divide..no wind.

Average on the LieOMeter was 8.6

I was happy with that
2012 6.2 CC 4x4

Not bad at all. And no worries about the costly diesel issues...

6.2, 4X4, CCSB. Trip 1 (never reset since new) shows 12.6 overall. Just did a 650 mile trip with about 300 miles 80 mph interstate, 50 miles or so of in town, and the return 300 miles was on 65-70 mph rolling hills two lane. Door to door it averaged 14.7 hand calculated, 14.6 according to the display.
