I hope everyone had an oppertunity to take advantage of the great day we had today.
We (the wife and I) took two of our trucks to the local cruise last night.
and I took the 78 or big blue (the wife just coined that one) to my buddies house to work on the 56. All told big blue ran great, I put about 50-75 miles on her the past two days. Starting to feel more confidiant that the ole gal wont leave me stranded.
Was looking at the LandCruiser leaf springs the other day, found most of them to be cracked and shot. Cut the springs, dropped the axle out and found that basically the rear 1/3rd of the chassis is rotted.
Cutting the rotted part of the fame completely off and going to fab a new one out of square steel tube stock. Going to be tough finding time since I start back up at URI monday...
Oh well, still into the truck for less then $600 so far!
