Turbo whistle...

Hey guys I was wondering if there's a way to get more noise out of the turbo. I'm running 3 inch straight pipe. I have a 94 7.3 turbo and I'm curious if it has a silencer on the turbo?

A bigger exhaust and cold air intake helps big time.

No silencer, but the OEM crushed downpipe is a major restriction. Look into an aftermarket DP. Plenty of info on it here.

The Stinger Plus package does away with the stock exhaust. There should be no flattened down pipe on the truck. It also has a different turbine housing.

If your truck still has the original Banks intake, that would be the place to work on. With the original Banks intake on my 87' I can't hear the turbo at all.

Thats assuming he has a banks turbo....

4 inch exhaust and a good air intake will help, along with more fuel.

You could also get some 3 inch stainless flex pipe to use for the down pipe.

I figured haha. Yeah, ive basically replaced everything in the package. Intake is now different (6637), ditched the crappy banks chip, am doing stacks soon (As soon as i get them...company failed to inform me theyre backordered for 2 weeks now). Only thing thats the same is the banks turbo housing lol
