*looking again. Certainly a market for that. Yours is bad *** man, aluminum looks awesome and 1/4 of that doesn't weigh anything near a 1/4 hc steel brick lol. I kinda only work with the forge and anvil. a bandsaw would be awesome though.
Mine will become softer'ish over the up of 500deg and back down slowly. I'd think with the steel you'd have to let her lose her temper, then re-tighten bolts. then should be good.
Is there anything special about the pipe fittings that you guys are using. I can probably get some scrap plate and I have the gasket. I "might" could weld it, but I may have better luck initially just using the threaded fittings. If I was to try and weld one, where are you getting the fittings from? Any special kind or just what is available at the hardware stores.
Anyone see any reason why copper or brass fittings wouldn't work?
Nothing special. Some have welded them and some have threaded them. Mine is threaded. The only "special" parts would possible be the 5/8 hose barbs. All the pipe and fittings can be had at most hardware stores.
not sure if anyone may have found this. i just ran across it.
anyone happen to have a CAD or solidworks spec drawing of the plate itself? i can convert it to a different file and burn it on a plasmajet table @ work. was gonna try to burn quite a few plates out of some scrap plate. if anyone is interested, i can send them out for a few bucks. shoot me a PM. of course the fittings, gasket, etc. will be up to you guys.
not really sure...i think the plate that i listed the link for is actually in europe, or at least sold by a european vendor. kinda strange...but for the fellas that cant weld or aren't mechanically inclined, its an option for sure.
i'm working on putting together a dxf file drawing for the plate. got it all dimensioned in solidworks...so we'll see how it turns out when i burn it tomorrow. gotta dial in the table so it doesnt cut too much kerf into the material. i'm trying to avoid oversizing the holes before cleaning them up on the drillpress. they're gonna be stout...1/4 inch plate.
I used to make and sell them. Mine were steel and the tubes were about 8" long to clear headers and make it easier to install/remove the hose clamps. They were all welded, not threaded, pressure tested, and the supplies alone cost about $30 each plate.
