    You're fine. No need to be sorry. Yeah from what I've seen it does seem to be a pretty good manifold. I'm trying to do a mild performance build (Isky Mile-A-More cam, Ford HD exhaust manifold etc.) To keep the stock look and sound for the most part. This intake manifold would have been a perfect bolt on option for me. Alright thank you. How common are these intake manifolds?

    Hello. I was looking for intake manifolds and came across an edelbrock sp-180 that you were selling for a 240/300 inline six. I was wondering if the 2 barrel carburetor adapter is removable simply by unbolting the two bolts in the picture so that a carter 1 barrel carburetor could be mounted to it. If so is the manifold still for sale?

    Thanks Blake. I was able to get the manifolds's separated - now I have one or two bolts to drill out and tap in the intake. Decided to follow the path of the EFI exhaust manifold and ordered the walker y-pipe. I have ordered the device that provides coolant to the intake as well (from the Hollister company near Houston). May not need it, but will use it for a template to cover the hole (expensive template). Engine should be ready next week - at last check they had found it was bored .40 over in a previous rebuild. I believe they are taking it to .60 over (they said it was good all the way up to .80 over). And the magnaflux turned up no issues.
    I intend to take you up on your offer for advice. Right now doing grunt work while the engine is out - cleaning, painting, por 15ing the engine compartment, radiator housing, the intake, etc. and getting ready to pull the exhaust and to pull the steering gear.

    TheDudeAbides I would like some 240/300 advice. I have pulled the engine. stripped it down (well can't get the cranshaft pulley bolt off, so can't get the crankshaft pulley and timing cover off) and am about to haul it to an engine rebuilder. When it returns, I was considering installing the EFI manifolds, but that boosts costs as I will have to redo my 1-year-old exhaust and also reconfigure my setup to meet texas inspection requirements (heat riser required on 71-later). Is there enough benefit to justify the efi exhaust. I have had the EFI exhaust manifolds for about a year.

    Hey Blake,

    Do you have any ability to do machine work? It's a completely custom piece so I'm really not sure how to get one without it.

    If you have the stock intake/exhaust manifold gasket set for a carb'd 300, it'll come with a small gasket that goes between the intake/exhaust. It makes for a perfect template to base the new plate on. All you need is a 1/4" thick plate of FLAT FLAT steel about the size of the gasket, drill 3 holes that match the bolt holes on the gasket, and then drill two holes in the center. Here's a pic:

    Then, you can weld pipes to the bottom of it.
    If you don't have a welder, you may need to get someone to put threads in the holes. Just be sure the threads are a size you can find in plumping supplies.

    I don't really know of any other way to do it.
