The other day and looking to save some $$ with the conversion to an electric fuel pump.

To save money you should replace your fuel pump with a stock fuel pump. You can build your own electric fuel system for about half of the kit you mentioned. Others have done it here on FTE.

Got the fuel bowl out the Fpr out and the turbo is putting up a pretty good fight! When I get that turbo out what are some things I should do. I noticed a bit of oil behind the turbo on what I believe it the ebfv. Probably the O rings in the actuator. I saw another guy had the same issue. Any other words of advice?

I'd eliminate the ebpv if I were you. Make sure you get new orings for the turbo and pedestal for when you reinstall it. Here are some ways to work with the ebpv. I did what gobstopper did. Clay also sells a pedestal with the ebpv deleted on it. My tymar dp came with instructions how to remove the flapper out of the turbo exhaust. Basically just drill out a couple rivets and a freeze plug is needed iirc.

It is just for faster warmup in cold weather. It does nothing else unless you'd wire it up for an exhaust brake. It does restrict air, maybe not a lot when its open, but it does. Removing it will allow for better exhaust flow.

So I can totally remove it from the turbo pedestal and gut the flapper dealeo. The fuel pump sits right in the front of the turbo almost under the pedestal? What's the big silver thing infront of that, hpop?

Yes you can totally remove it from both places, that is what I did. You are right on the fuel pump and the hpop. The resevoir for the hpop is on top of it.
