I chose the 1 year - even though I think the repair is actually the same as the 45 day warranted work. My logic at the time was that I wanted enough warranty term to cover enough driving to actually test it. I didn't think 45 days was enough.

As I understand it though, he does some extra work for the 2 yr warranty. I probably would have gone that route if I had known that.

When you are trying to evaluate which warranty route to go, it should all be about your level of how risk adverse you are.

I spoke with a guy at FICMrepair.com, He did say they do like a "full rebuild" for the two year warranty. I am def going to go with that!

BTW, I got the batteries tested, both are no good now, so the dealer was not BS'ing me. They were autozone Duralast Gold, had an 07/08 sticker on them, so they were not new, but how does seemingly perfectly good batteries, all of a sudden go dead...both at the same time!!?

It's not really all that surprising. Batteries are funky "creatures". May dad had batteries that would actually read good, but had 2 bad cells in them. It had enough to read good on the charger, but not enough to keep the car going.

After that, nothing really surprises me about batteries anymore.
