I went into the dealer today and got an oil change, replaced fuel filters and air filter. This evening while getting on the highway, the engine symbol illuminated on the dash...is it possible any of those services caused this?
If the dealer changed the oil (and hopefully it will show good on dipstick), I would call that dealer and ask about it! If the CEL is FLASHING, call dealer and do not drive.
Alright, just got back from getting the codes read at Autozone, all of them had to do with injectors having "low circuit".
PO282, PO279, PO273, PO267, PO264, PO261
Which are Cylinders 8, 7, 5, 3, 2, and 1 have "injector circuit low".
The slip mentions possible causes as:
--Open Circuit condition
--Coil to coil short
--FICM poor connection fault
--faulty fuel injector
In addition to the information above, I should not that I added the REV-x oil supplement immediately after the oil change to try to somewhat tackle my sticky injector problem. It has worked well, started up today smooth, which is the first time its done that since I have bought it a few months ago. Anywho, the truck is running like a dream now, funny its putting out codes, lol.
I did not have AutoZone clear the codes, I will go back up there tomorrow and have that done. Is it possible the dealer caused the FICM code or maybe just pure coincidence?
Just an update, this morning I had a VERY hard time starting the truck (cold start). After trying for a little while and a bunch of black smoke later it finally sputtered to life, and ran very rough. I hit the high idle and after 15 - 20 seconds it finally smoothed itself out, and started running fine. Still running great and starting great while warm, does that sound like FICM still? The check Engine light is still illuminated also, Autozone said they are not allowed to "clear" codes here...
Well another update, the truck no longer will start at all cold. So I just got it towed to the Ford dealer, waiting to hear back from them, even though I feel as though I know what they are going to tell me, lol
